    He was told his truck was not covered under the warranty. Unfortunately it happened during the gap time after the initial recall and before the class action lawsuit. He ended up selling off his aftermarket parts and cutting up the truck for scrap.

    Im looking at potentially doing a 1.5"-2" body lift soon to fit 35s easily and without cutting much of anything (I already have a 6" drop bracket), Any suggestions to cover up the gap in the front/rear bumper?

    Sorry, I have aftermarket front and rear bumpers and when I put the body lift on it really didn't make much of a difference.
    This past summer ended up moving the front bumper up about an inch by messing with the mounts a little bit.

    If you are going to Langhorne, they will take care of you. The two guys I talked to were awesome to work with (the ones actually doing the work, not the bs service guys), I went back about talked with them about the whole process and what not.

    Would be bummed if you sold Craig, unless you have another rig in mind to still wheel.

    Lol you think Craig is going to give up AC?! I say if Craig builds anything it's going to be something like Mark's build. All the comforts, built right to drive cross country, but still can be wheeled the piss out of it.

    Saw a few people say you've talked about gearing a lot with 2nd gens. Any insight for when I move to ~33's with 285/70/R17 Ridge Graps? I was planning on going down to 4.10. Honestly this thing already gear searches a little more than I would even like at 3.73 with 265/70/R17. Any input is appreciated

    Yeah Auto. I've used the rough calculators going from stock gear/tires at 3.73 265/65/R70 to 285/70/R17 and came up with 4.02 before you try and account for tire weight. Also been messing around with the grimmjeeper gear calculator too

    One of the things on the truck has always been bothersome to me ever since I completed it: my custom fender flares.
    I was very pleased with the way they looked however, they were never very stout. I don’t make a practice of bouncing off of trees every time I go out in the woods but it seems that anytime I even rubbed one a little bit the flares would crack. It’s become pretty obvious to me that the process that I use on the grills works well because it is a small area that I am modifying. When I tried to use the same process on the much larger surface of a full fender flare it is simply not durable for flexible enough.

    I have had an extra set of Bushwacker Fender flares sitting in my shed for a few years. With everything else that is going on with the truck I decided to finally take the time to build another set that I intend to be much more sturdy.

    I haven’t gotten very far with that yet but here’s where I’m at:

    The flares.

    Passenger front cut:

    Backer pieces adhered:

    I’m using a liquid nails product from HD called Fuze it to attach the backing pieces. This product has excellent adhesion to ABS and is relatively inexpensive compared to the smaller loctite 2part epoxy I used previously. Also, the Fuze it retains it’s flexibility once cured.
    For finishing I’ll be using this:

    Lord Products 152 fusor.

    My game plan here is to create a sectioned flare that is strong that I’ll also be able to have color matched to the truck.
