Well, I would include the 55k sales for Silverado in there as well, as I see them both under the GM entity.

Ford sales are ridiculous. F150's are pretty sweet, though. Had one for a while.

Yeah, I am seeing more and more mid-size trucks on the road now. The demand is increasing for sure, this is also one reason why Ford is re-releasing the Ranger.

The ghastly Corolla sold 5.5 times the far superior Mazda 3. Also I don't think the F-150 is 7 times the truck Tundra is...

Kinda of missing leading since it says F- Series. I was wondering the other day if there is a market for 3/4 ton trucks for Toyota to hop into. Also Ford and Chevy I assume sell alot of work fleet trucks compared to Toyota.

Yup, that's been my point for some time. McDonalds sells billions of sludge burgers every year - does that mean they are better than the Mom and Pop burger joint down the street who grinds their own burger meat, bakes their own buns and has a far superior tasting product.

If someone is going to argue high sales numbers = always better product then they need to think a bit more sophisticated than that.

Just a month ago there was someone who thought the 3rd Gen would have "half the run or popularity of the 2nd Gen"
...totally ignoring the fact that even in it's first year, the 3rd Gen outsold ANY year of the 2nd Gen

I don't think that's the best example. Too many differences: cost, pricing, target market and size, etc. in your example. Apples and oranges...err...beef and mystery meat comparison.

In comparisons for similar products that have similar price and features, there is significance to the sales numbers.

I was checking depreciation couple years ago, Ford did better than the Tacoma. Not by much. People always saying the Toy held its value.

For a true comparison, they need to separate fleet sales from consumer purchases.

I don’t understand what they’re calling small/mid vs full size. Third chart suggest small/mid is actually fairly close in sales at 114k vs 143k for full size. 143k full size makes zero sense. There are approx 184k between F series, Sierra, and Ram alone. Explain it to me like I’m a 5 year-old.

This. I work for a company that literally has 2000+ F-series fleet trucks. We can't be the only company that has a ton of Ford fleets.

Dayum, thats a lot of trucks. On a much, much smaller scale, same with us. We HAVE to buy only Ford F150s, escapes, or transits, white, (but GM for SUVs, black, go figure) with the cheapest interiors I dont even think you can get on a standard off the lot deal.
