I guess I just like buying what I believe to be quality parts. Almost everytime I try to cut corners I end up buying the proven quality overkill part I should have bought in the first place :).

I can't disagree with you on that, that's why in the end I bought bd's. But I also still run the cali-raised behind my grill too.

You were comparing rigid to much cheaper alternatives.

And I never compared the rigid to a $20 bar or pod. I mentioned a $90 20" Chinese branded light that I purchased off of Amazon as being greatly inferior in both build quality and light output

Well an Amazon light bar is an Amazon light bar.
I had Cali-Raised in mind I guess, cheaper alternative that has good output.

I did the same, and ended up wasting a lot of money. I now tell people that if they are serious about light output, but a quality high dollar light with a good warranty:thumbsup:

I can't comment on Cali Raised. Would you say they are comparable to rigids? And if rigids/ baja designs are 10, and eBay $20 pods are 1, please rate :)

Edit: On a side note, OP gonna flip when he see two pages of BS:anonymous: haha

    On that spectrum........bd being a 10....id give Rigid an 8.5 and cali-raised a 7..FCK a 5 and Amazon/Ebay a 2 maybe a 1

No Cali are not in the same ballpark. I have a few friends that tried them out. All got rid of them fairly quickly. They seem to have some quality control issues.
Once again you get what you pay for...sometimes less :(.

That's good, I've seen quite a few negative posts on TW on them. Some were the same complaints my buds had.
But obviously they have fans also.

Ya, the saying is so true.

I still don't understand how people who purchase overpriced Tacomas because of quality, longevity, and functionality end up wanting to purchase cheapo lights. I realize it's a free market, but please don't kid yourselves into believing the cheaper alternative isn't only as good as, but BETTER, than quality parts with lifetime warranty.

Edit: Not just talking about this thread either, just in general. I realize Rigid placed higher than the CR or eBay lights :bananadance:

Comparing lights to a truck isn't even fair, but I get your point. But we can all agree to disagree we all have our own good and bad experiences.

I won't get into another debate, so I guess we shall just disagree from here on out.

Shame the rest of the world doesn't have the free speech and privilege to think whatever the hell they want. It's a damn shame really.

Since you got your last word in I'll get mine, I had the Duallys on my old Grand Cherokee so maybe that's why I had bad luck. If I had them on my Tacoma I'm sure they would have unzipped my pants.

That's pretty much what I was after. The Rigid sight gives a decent description on what the hyperspot is for, but it doesn't cover the the driving beam at all from what I could find. I assumption was that the hyperspot/driving combo was better for baja applications where you have longer straights, where as the spot/flood combo would be better for slower stuff like overlanding and trailing. Key word to the last sentence is "assumption". I came here with the question to see if anyone with experience could confirm or deny my thought. In the words of a funny man, I "wasn't readyyyyyy".

For real though. Although, this was all pretty funny to come and read as a whole. Gotta love the internet! A simple question turns things into a shitshow :crapstorm:

Also, the Rigid Pro just recently came out. The E2 pro is now available in Spot/Driving and Spot/Hyperspot combos. The spot/driving has really piqued my interest.
