AZ hunting

Bobcats and Mountain lions are predators and need to be controlled, like any predator.
The left California agenda is not based on science. I really hope this doesn't pass and is not supported in the Hunting community as a whole.
Not controlling mountain lions could decimate deer populations.

I completely agree with you and i absolutely do not think that any hunters will support this. Although I was not raised to be a trophy hunter, hunting keeps these predator populations in check, regardless of what happens to the carcass afterwords. And that, in turn, leads to healthy populations of prey animals. This proposition is born from bleeding heart leftist bullshit, but they will put out tv commercials to the effect of "save the pretty kitties and stop the barbaric murder." And unfortunately, I think that most people will vote for that out of ignorance of the facts that hunting is a major part of wildlife management. I bet people change their minds when cats start moving into populated areas and eating dogs and other easy targets of opportunity, but it'll be too late by then.

 

Correct , I believe Bobcat trapping is now illegal in California, which I consider a form of hunting.

I've been hunting inArizona a long time . I've only ever seen 3 or 4 mountain lions.
They are elusive and a supreme predator. We have a December deer hunt coming up and we all have mountain lion tags.

That’s news to me! I always see people trapping when I’m out chukar hunting.
As recently as two years I believe.

Is it possible to get turkey tags over the counter? My card hasnt been hit yet.

 

You can get OTC tags for turkey that are for archery.

There are usually left over tags for turkey up on the kaibab.

I'm think they are still processing charges, hope you get your tag.

Also if you can put in for fall turkey bonus point , that helps your spring draw chances.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I know I can get otc jave tags if I don't get drawn so I'm not worried about that one but I was really hoping to get drawn for turkey. I've never hunted turkey before and it will give me an excuse to take a trip to the Sierra Ancha wilderness.

 

Great rough rugged country with some nice whitetails.

If you can get some calls and learn some basic calling, turkey calling is really so much fun in the spring.

 

I'm looking forward to the opportunity to try it out.

 

Well my card got hit for $25. yesterday but I can't see for what yet. I'm guessing I got drawn for javelina, but not turkey.

Out scouting for deer this last weekend
Saw a coati at 100 yards (big male with tail in the air)and ran into this guy

Anyone hunt 6A archery? I'm looking for an over the counter tag hunt from now to early January time frame. I'd rather not go for javelina, but I might consider it if its a good hunt. I just haven't heard much about any. I've never hunter here in AZ, so I'm looking to get back in to it.

I would think pigs would be more in the southern part of the unit.

If you've never hunter in Arizona buy the best optics you can afford.
It's big country with lots of mountains , valleys and ravines.i
