why all the hate on the prius? Wasn't even their fault. Glad there were no serious injuries, OP. Good luck finding a replacement!

    Just some stuff...
Okay, that was yesterday. How do you feel TODAY? The last time I was involved in an accident my adrenaline was pumping pretty good. Just a little sore. BUT the next day.... I really hope you're still feeling okay!

If the bed deflected into the cab, there’s damage to more than just aft of the diff... it could be just the bed mounts, or the frame could be bent.

Anything is repairable, with enough time, money, or effort. You can align the frame, but you’re probably talking a frame off resto. You could at least see if you can get a good wheel alignment, and go from there.

It’s at least still worth more if you part it out, but as others said I think it’s a good candidate for a project vehicle.

No Prius hate, but in So Cal they jump in front of a much bigger vehicle and usually slow down. My truck just needs a bigger toothpick to get them out of my grill, lol.

I was going by the fact that the cab to bed gap looks like it returned to even, so perhaps no significant frame damage, other than in the area of the rear bumper. Looks like the Prius shoved under, so not a solid impact straight into the frame. But always hard to judge damage from just a picture or two. But if I were looking for a project I would certainly consider this one.

Thanks for the support guys! I'm doing alright, and hopefully I'll have an answer as to whether my truck is for sure totaled or not by this evening. I'll let you guys know when I find out.

@Seagull233 The frame is bent a little in one spot about halfway between the end of the bed and the cab, but I believe the frame damage is fairly minimal. If I had the time and resources, this would definitely be an awesome project, but unfortunately that's not an option for me right now.

Yes Glad your OK.......Mine got hit back in the summer. In the side right were cab meets the box. I could not stand to part with it......Cut out damaged rocker and replaced, new door, new box. All inspections done and now a "Rebuilt" title. It's three colours LOL but me and my son are prepping it for paint......In the original Blurple of course. Knowing what I do now yours does not look too bad.

Nice, good for you for repairing it! That’s what sucks though... you lose so much in resale value with a rebuilt title :(

Rebuilt title is better if you know the history for your truck unless you are going to resell it.
If the front was hit this hard instead of the rear I would say let it go, but the rear is a lot easier to fix.
The last thing I'm worried about is putting money into my truck even at 545,000 miles, my truck is a blast to drive and own and would cost a lot to replace it even though it's not a new truck, these trucks are a joy to have no matter, I could buy a new Tacoma if I wanted too, but I don't want the new Tacoma :)

Well guys... my truck is (finally) officially deemed totaled. Luckily, I am getting what I was looking for out of it, and I'll be back in another first gen soon! Unfortunately buying it back and fixing it up or parting it out is not an option for me right now, as I don't have the space or time.
