    "new from the recall"
Are you trying to make me sad, cuz mine will never have a new frame?

Sounds like it'll turn out quite nice. Love seeing folks take care of their trucks.

Oh and if you know anyone who does need a front diff, I have one sitting around waiting to be sold.

I'd like to be able to wish I could find a hole. But neither PO brought the truck in for inspection before the deadline. So even though I have a little over a year before the 15 year mark hits, I'm screwed either way. So at this point, I REALLY want to not a hole in my frame.

I think there is camping there. I did a day trip, but camped at Wolf's Gap campground with @Lots2Learn58 . It was way too cold for what I was prepared for. 15* in the day, and 6* overnight. Its in the mountains of WV.

Its blocked at work, but Im pretty sure there is a badass 4 day/700 mile trip on this guy's page.

Tour de Bronx the other weekend:

As I was riding with my cycling buddies to the starting line, a bonehead cyclist rear ended me and we both fell onto the pavement in a messy heap (always wear a helmet), despite yelling out and signaling that I am slowing and stopping. My rear derailleur was bent into my bike spokes.

I had to perform a temporary field repair:

I re-bent the derailleur hanger from very crooked, to slightly crooked :)

To protect my carbon fiber wheels and electronic derailleur, I adjusted the low limit screw to not allow use of my three lower gears. That makes it a little challenging on a 40 mile ride.

Lesson's learned: (1) There are many people riding around you that are newbies and/or not paying attention. (2) Always pack spares (in this case, a derailleur hanger.) (3) Always ride with good friends that will help you get through stuff.

These rules ^^^ apply when wheeling as well.

At home, I took the derailleur apart, hammered the side plates straight, regreased everything, replaced with a new hanger and a fresh chain 85982DA8-C09E-4CBD-9CA7-6485E7D98B6F.jpg

Very true Lloyd. Btw did you take the subway(no pun intended) to get home. I think you were spotted. Looks like that 40 miles got you pretty tired

Yeah, none of this old skool cable stuff. Too much work.

With an electronic derailleur, if your fingertip gets tired, just use another finger.

Also ties in well with my all-in-one bike computer/gps navigation/heart rate monitor.

Truck mods are way less expensive than bike mods. ;) Coz you’re dealing with carbon fiber, titanium and other exotic stuff.

Edit/Add - which is probably why I’m a stickler for correct fastener torque. I have a cool little Italian made torque wrench that measures 2 - 16 Nm (17.7 to 141.6 inch -lbs.) Nothing scarier than bombing down a mountain road @50mph and your carbon fiber steering fork coming loose.

Pretty much everywhere in the Bronx: Yankee Stadium starting line. Botanical Garden finish line. City Island/Orchard beach somewhere in between.

That drive from central Jersey is horrid.
It’s somewhat palatable from Rockland via Tappan Zee

BTW, Need a favor: Send over three (3) National 710595 Oil Seals and one (1) 710596 to your Stony Point store for pickup before this Thursday. I need some spares. I think you have the best pricing compared to AA and AZ
