As an Air Force retiree I have access to the auto skills shops on Ft. Meade or Andrews. They should have all the tools I would need. Then I would just need to get and alignment. I also have a garage and an assortment of tools. I would just need to double check to make sure I have all the necessary tools if I were to do it at home. I have jack stands and a floor jack. What I lack at home would be pneumatic tools.

 

Extremely easy install. I work in Jessup and have more than enough tools. I'd be happy to help if you need.

 

Pneumatic tools aren't necessary by any means, especially with yours being a 2017. It would make it a little easier/faster but I've installed a few lifts with just hand tools.

I'm active duty and work at fort meade so if you decided you want to do it yourself, I'll happily come lend a hand. Or I can bring my tools along to your house because I've got a powerful cordless impact and anything else necessary for an easy install. Shoot, we could likely knock that out in two hours.

 

Cool! I am going to do a little more research on the LRT level kit. It seems like one of the better ones and I like that it is aluminum and less likely to rust. I am mainly just trying to get a little more lift as I build this truck out and get it ready for off road. Next I will most likely be throwing some tires (and maybe wheels) on it followed by skid plates. I already have my MobTown sliders on order. I'll be in contact with you once I decide which kit and order the parts.

 

They're all the same, it's just a spacer. Look on ebay, the same thing can be had much cheaper

 

If you're planning on actually off roading, I would highly highly highly recommend NOT doing that lift. Those types of lifts (spacer lifts) are purely for aesthetics. At the minimum I'd recommend bilstein 5100s all around, OME coils up front (888 will give you 2.5" lift) and an add a leaf in the rear. This is around $650 from headstrong off-road.

Edit: the reason is it's easy to over extend the rear and bottom out the front, damaging your truck.

 

Good to know. So, if I went with the 5100's would this be something I could still do in my garage? I don't have a spring compressor.

 

Yes! When I get home, I'll link you to a video of how to disassemble coilovers very safely using a floorjack. I've used this method before and it's awesome. You could always order them assembled as well for an extra $80 or so, but it's not worth it since your truck is so new.

That doesn't look very difficult. Plus, as you stated, my truck is new so there shouldn't be any seized hardware or other wear related surprises.

 

It really is super easy. I've installed it that way, and on my current truck fully assembled coilovers, so I've done both ways. Fully assembled only saved maybe 10 minutes.

Jerry, we deal with tint works all the time. They do most of our aftermarket products. I have work done on my wife's vehicle by them before. And planing on getting tint done soon. If you need help with the lift , let me know. I'm down the street from Bowens in Huntingtown. Garage and plenty of tools.

 

What is even crazier is now that car has over 1400hp... I saw the car at SEMA.

 

I've never had them do any work other than tint. Prices to tint are good. As good as any other tint I've had.

For mechanical mods I'd rather do those myself. I've had nothing but bad experiences letting other touch my stuff for anything other than routine maintenance
