    Diet Dr. Pepper here, haha. In all honesty though, you guys are making me wish I had some Mich Ultra in the fridge. :rofl:

    I'm really hoping they've never been touched, but the previous owner to you being an older lady probably isn't a good sign if she ever had it done...although there were regular maintenance records for the most part from the stealership, so I fervently hope that an actual Toyota technician wouldn't hack the things up like those axles today. Only record I couldn't find any info on was the scheduled timing belt change. There was a big maintenance visit in the system at 90k miles, but it didn't mention the timing belt, so I'm thinking it was never done which makes it about 60k overdue. Seems to run good though so I might try to ride it out until the 180K mark when it'd be due again...with the mileage we put on it, that should only be about 20 years from now. :D

    I wish I would have taken pics of Hugo’s axles before I doctored them up.

    I guess you can’t let just anyone use a cutoff wheel or a torch lol

    I could only get the records back to 2007 though. There wasn't anything before that. I'm thinking they might have used a different system before that and the records didn't make the transition.

    At any rate, I'm perplexed why if the vehicle was in for a big maintenance visit at 90K why the timing belt wasn't changed. That's when it was due to be done. Frankly, it's weird, but oh well, I guess. I've read that the 3.4L valve train clears the top of the piston so there shouldn't be any major damage if the belt fails.

    All evidence points to it never having been done. The little placard on the timing cover meant to be filled out with the date and mileage of the change is pristine and appears to never have had any writing on it. There's a sticker with that info on it in that position on the timing cover from when I had it done on the OGT right after I got it. It's possible that it was done and nobody filled out the placard, but with no record of it in Toyota's system and no data on the placard, I have to assume it was never done. Again, though, if it fails it shouldn't hurt the valve train according to what I've read, so I'm not going to loose sleep over it, haha. It'll either make it to 180K with no issues and it'll get done then or either it, or the water pump, will fail and it'll get done then. :thumbsup:

    You made great cuts and did an excellent job patching the one gouge from the previous monkey wrencher.

    Going to try my had at un-fuggering my axels tomorrow, I have a small laundry list of little weld projects to do, haven't had gas till this last Friday been so busy. Glad to get the metal glue gun out again! :welder:
