Why not just take a small notch out of the bumper?

I've actually looked into this myself.
    Sheet of 3/16 costs $120, 2 fabricators cost $200/each, coating $???
That's $520 in material and labor alone and I work these guys, watching them build bumpers on their Chevy and Jeeps. I won't use the whole sheet of steel, but still paying for it all.
This already coated and free shipped knockoff is as close to a plate bumper I'll get when I can afford it.

Can't use oem skid plate, mine came with a dv8 sticker on the package and you'll have to cut a notch for the ac line for 2012-2015.

Oh, I've scoured the net looking for plans or something I can give to one of my drafter friends at work. That way they can render what I need and it can be cut on our plasma table, then welded up by myself. They don't exist, or are hiding deeper than I care to look.
I work in IT, my Google skills are top notch :D

I read here and there that the added weight out in front of the front wheels would tend to make the front end want to drift in the corners... have you noticed anything like that?

I have a bumper (demello), winch with steel line and full skids, so ~200 lbs for the bumper and winch alone. I'm on OME 884 coils which are a 590lb coil and have my swaybar on. I haven't noticed any drifting in corners.

What did you have to do to reuse your stock skid plate?
