So I'll start off by saying I don't have delusions of grandeur by thinking my 4x2 Sport can be an off roading beast. But what would be the basics you would start off with to become capable of basic stuff without breaking the bank. So far i have a 3in leveling kit, 33in tires, and front skid plate. I have predator step bars which iknow isn't ideal but good sliders are probably out of budget right now. Also I'm in Tampa, fl. Area so it's not like I'll be hitting mountains anytime soon.

    Thanks for the info

Good tires, sliders, boompars, lift coils, ditch the spacerz when u can afford to, shovel, snatch strap, and a buddy with 4wd to pull ya out.

Depends what kind of wheeling your doing.

1st thing I would do is get some great tires and then mount up recovery points front and rear, buy maxtraxx and go have some fun.

The major thing about 2wd is you need momentum when wheeling which can lead to bouncing which leads to damaging your rig.

Is Palm Harbor closer to where you're at? I'm up in Pasco county and so far where I've been in my truck I didn't necessarily need 4x4 I was just a little more comfortable knowing it was there. I've only been up to Croom, where in mind were you thinking of going to off-road?

Rear airlocker, winch/come along, recovery straps, shovel.

You're going to be getting stuck more than you'll need rock protection.

Meh, 2wd gunna need momentum. Momentum isnt the friend of control.
I see it being a close call there.

I’m from Tampa and go back all the time to visit family. The only rocks you’d need protection from are the ones in rich peoples gardens....

Typically noone is going rock crawling on the rubicon in a 4x2. Much more likely on trails that will bog you or high center. I could see sliders if the trails have a lot of close quarter tree trunks.

Recovery points front and rear, good strap and knowledge how to use it, Hi-Lift jack.

If you get in something that won't get you out of...you tried and did it on purpose lol.
