UCON Flex Advanced Engine Management System

You guys who bought replacement ECUs, did you get the exact model you had before? Or is there some leeway. Finding an X-Runner ECU has been a bit of a pain.

 

I bought the same part number. I remember a couple other guys looking for x-runner ECUs and pretty much striking out.

Well, previously.. i only saw 6-7 psi when i left it in 3rd gear. Now im able to hit 9.5. Ive hit 11 when im shifting.
My Max MAF increased to 336 g/s.. from 324.
and.. UCON /Guardian feature kicked in. I had less than 1/4 tank when i ran the WOT data run. At the top of 3rd gear i lost power. When i looked at the data log i leaned out. Nice safety feature ..

also, the vacuum leak might have been the culprit for the cels ive been battling, p0420/p0430. they have not yet returned...

My 6 injectors - 95% / 7th - 40% duty cycle .. might consider upgrading. hoping URD has a sale coming up soon.

Which size injectors do you currently have? They are maxed out and need to move up in size for sure!

 

My numbers are pretty much identical. Definitely considering an injector upgrade.

Yep, it was pretty much hopeless finding the ECU part number I needed on eBay for my x-runner. I ended up buying a new one

Just wondering about drivability, perhaps drilling out the brass pill would be a happy medium?

 

Pull it out. If you don't like the change, then put it back, or try drilling. Apparently though, other owners of the M90 have used Nos jets of various sizes. As an alternative to drilling.

 

Thanks, I'll have to do some research online and see if I can find a place that sells different sizes.
I actually just read a thread on a Fiero forum where the guy says he just leaves it disconnected. Not that I intend to do that, just interesting reading:

Totally going to check this line when I get home. My symptoms sure seem like a vacuum/boost leak.

 

Yeah definitely not ideal. The last thing you want is to heatsoak even more because you are in constant boost at throttle applications. On top of that it will rob you of gas mileage.

One question I just thought of regarding snout oil. Does anyone know if there's a passage that allows oil to reach the rear of the supercharger, or are those bearings sealed and self lubricated? Is the oil strictly for the snout gears?
