I had to trade in my '15 Dcab 2nd, needed a commuter car for the time being but I'm pretty sure that 3rd gen is in my near future once everything is back to normal.
I kept all add-ons from the truck to sell. Did some reading and it looks like some 2nd gen part will work on the 3rd. Now I don't know if I should keep some of them for my next truck.
Can anyone confirm if the following will work with 3rd gen: 2nd gen WeatherTech floor liners, OEM 5' bed mat p/n PT580-35050-SB, OEM Dcab running boards part number PT212-35055, Tonneau Cover, Softtopper.
3rd gen 5' bed from pics looks just like my '15 did or I'm mistaken?

Bed mat yes, steps yes, tonneau cover and soft topper might not as the tailgate is different and not sure on the weathertechs

It’s the same bed but the issue is the bed sides then extend like an inch or so higher than 2nd gens so the rail to top of bedside distance is different which may cause issues with your tonneau, Softopper, etc. Reach out to the manufacturer of your tonneau and see if they maybe just have some new 3rd gen specific brackets you can get to fix the issue?

Do the same with Softopper. But apparently Softopper did a little redesign to the 3rd gen version so it flows better with the 3rd gen body/tailgate.

Tried Softopper website and add tops for 2nd and 3rd in the cart. Softopper unfortunately doesn't give part #s. Tailgate difference is obvious though.

I guess Softopper is out. Thanks for the info on the redesign.

You can probably still call and ask if maybe you can get a few new parts to update it and maybe retain the canvas.

The bummer is if you want to sell it, people have this notion that they should never pay no more than a 1/4 of the cost for a “used” top whether it be a fiberglass or Softopper regardless of condition. So be prepared to be low balled until you find the right buyer.

I know I’ll never get anything worthwhile back out of my Bestop unless it’s a local sale so I gave up on trying to sell it temporarily

1/4 of the price is not fair, depending on the condition of course. My top is practically brand new since I've been using tonneau most of the time. 20-25% off is a different story and would be one nice deal for someone. How long have you been trying to sell your bestop?

It’s completely unfair but that’s what has happened to a lot of the market. People have snagged even fiberglass tops for like $200-300 and think everyone else will sell for the same price regardless of condition. Just the way it is I guess. I had it listed back a few months or so ago and the few offers I received weren’t worth it. Or people expect you to build shipping into the price, which makes it not worth it at all since shipping a top costs upward of $50. But I modified the tailgate bar on mine since I have aftermarket bedside covers that sit flat, so I guess a lot of people were leery about it.

People seem to value Softopper better though so you may have better luck

I'll give it a shot. It's pretty easy to break down Sofftoper to the orininal box size, which is not that large. I do remember shipping a soft top for the jeep once. That thing was huge. I actually used Greyhound bus shipping which is pretty reasonable. As long as buyer is willing to travel to their bus depot to pick up the item
