People say that the Tacoma grill is too big. Take a look at the Tundra.

I much preferred the v6 in the colorado/canyon vs. what we got in the Taco. Everything else on the Taco was superior to the GM twins IMO.
    Sorry for going off topic.

I thought you have already had a 3rd Gen before the Colorado

The Raptor is probably the best looking F-150, but i think it looks better without the Billboard Graphics.

Recently had a Colorado Z71 fully loaded as a rental. It had better low end torque than my Tacoma but rode much rougher, and was super cheap looking on the inside. Seating position in the Colorado was a bit better. Also heard a lot of rattling in the dashboard from the Colorado. Overall, glad I bought a Tacoma.

Well seeing that they sell the same number of wranglers as they do Tacomas, and the wrangler is pretty much useless, id say a Jeep truck is going to sell well.

I did but had back and neck issues and only had it little over a month and no way to judge because I had those other issues that with the seat position till I had surgery and rehab had to change. I know i liked the truck looks and interior much better but because I couldn't position and ended up having those issues I just don't know

Continue to lose sales... I won't be buying another new Toyota after this one's gone... Tundras a POS when comparing it to anything else (value for money). Turd gen taco stepped up a little but still has a large gap to make up if it wants to keep enthusiasts vs just making it tolerable for people using it as an A to B vehicle.

Everyone talks crap about the GM twins yet my cousin purchased a new 2015 2wd Colorado and paid $30-32k and traded it in recently for $26-27k and it's listed at that dealer for just under $30k. Which seems to be what most comparable ones are listed at. Pretty damn good resale since my 2015 i paid $35k for will resell private party at $27k... I'm hoping. I do have more mileage but still not a "GM resale value sucks" story.

I think people are really sleeping on the Jeep truck due to the Ranger, but as much as Toyota sells the lifestyle choice a Taco is, a Jeep truck will eat that up in spades.
I still think long term a jeep pickup is more harmful than the ranger. Fleet sales of yesteryear aren't really going to come back as much for the Ranger. The small importvan that every manufacturer sells (except Toyota and a few others ironically) does all that and cheaper.

Yeah, I just did a 2200 mile round trip, and I liked the seats. Drove about 800 miles the first day. I'm a the opposite end, I'm 5'7". I've had five Toyota pick-ups and the seats have all been fine.

I currently own both, and hands down the Colorado has a MUCH nicer motor/transmission. Night vs day in power over the Tacoma and the transmission changes gears smoothly and when it's supposed to. Toyota looks better. If the Tacoma had the Colorado motor and transmission it would be perfect.

Ford has dragged their feet on bringing the T6 Ranger to North America. It is only getting a facelift and a powertrain revamp for a cheap, quick easy way into the market. The thing is all bubbly like the Colorado now... like a crossover SUV and has the stupid deep bed like their half tons. I dunno, I could see them not putting a ton of effort into it.

Ram is the better looking half ton but the F-150 crushes it for towing and payload performance.

Ford wants to be careful that they don't take away sales from the F-150. The Fullsize Trucks are higher profit for each sale.

For sure, they are not stupid about it.

Even the old Ranger didn't get any more love than it really needed. It was kind of a "well if you really want one we will make you one" kind of a thing.

One of the big reasons that the old Ranger sold so well was it's price. Like the old Jeep Cherokee it was around forever and never got any R&D expenses.

They did update things as they went but dramatic updates were few and far between.

Nothing major. The Ranger was more outdated then the 2nd gen was.

Totally new front suspension in 1998, four evolutions of the Cologne V6, multiple evolutions of the C-3 transmission, three interiors, one major external body change in '93 and multiple facelifts... a 2012 is a lot different than my '85.

They were wanting to kill it off in the mid 2000's (when it was due for a major overhaul) but it was still selling well so they kept running it.
