I got called up at 1:30 by another local in Indiana. They said they needed some certified welders over there for some "emergency work" in one of the steel mills and to try and get there by 3:00. Wasn't that bad a sheet had blown out on the stack and needed to be replaced as well as some cracks that needed to be patched. Took six guys 22 hours  . I knew we were in it for the long haul when we were told that there was no day turn. I've worked twelve hours shifts and even some 14 and 15 hour shifts at refineries but never 22. I t was insane, get in at 3 and out at at 11:30 the next morning. Staying busy keeps you going, during breaks I wouldn't sit or put my head down, plus tons of coffee. When we got out I found that my concentration was not there as well as some of the fine motor skills needed to operate a motor vehicle. So I just stopped by a small forest preserve, turned the truck off, pulled the seat down and took a small nap. :D

Wow, you can't work more than 16 straight in this state- by law! Glad you decided to take a nap as to make it home safely.

Working again tonight. All was well until the electricity kicked off and the emergency lights are on in the office. Not sure what's up, the plant doesn't seem effected, just us. And I was about to heat up some lunch. Damn the luck! And it kicked off the Internet so I'm on via the iPhone. Maybe I'll sneak out to the parking lot and find something to mess with on my truck...
