Ain't hard, it'll rust anyways(trust me, I had 05 truck), so don't even worry about bending it, just heat it.
Takes around 2 hours to finish.

Had it done a while ago. I think it was $200. Welding and sealing that gauge of metal isn’t too bad but at the time I wasn’t able/confident enough to do it.

Pics show the reroute and how my skid had to be modified.

My skid was originally made to accommodate the crossover but it always rubbed (maybe bent it prior to)
    Fixed that issue though

I'm ordering skids and there was an option for stock or rerouted. I was curious whether I should keep it or plan ahead and reroute. Opinions?

reroute it. You will hit the little piece of metal and will eventually have to do it. Thats what I found with mine.
@llamasmurf said he will be getting his rerouted I believe. He had the cutout and will have to make it flat.

Yea no lift, so I hit the exhaust cutout on everything, everywhere, all the time:annoyed:. I am going to be having my exhaust rerouted probably next week, and have my all pro skid flattened.

Relentless or Pelfreybilt. Pelfreybilt is having a sale right now across the board so I'm tempted. I was going to wait more near Christmas to see if Relentless would have a sale and I would order bumpers and skids. One shot deal.

Just checked BAMF and they are less but don't specify shipping until after the sale. I'll have to email them.
any of you running aluminum skids or bumper? Wondering about the weight for every day driving.

steel everything as it is easier when they bend to fix or patch FOR ME. Aluminum is pretty much garbage when it beds or what not as it is very difficult and expensive to fix.

You need to think of how you drive and what you plan to put your skids through. If you want them for in case you get on a trail thats rough, then go aluminum. If you plan to get in the rocks and take more risks then steel may be better for you. I have bent my steel plates which are all 3/16 plate. Just depends on how you drive and what not.

Also everyone I have added this to the front page. Let me know if it can stay or your thoughts.
    PLEASE READ
I am posting this link here for some that may be NEW to off roading OR need a refresher. It is incredibly important that some of these 'trails' we drive on are still roads so common sense and sensibility need to be used. Also, we drive far enough for trails, and I don't want to have to drive further because trails are being closed because of stupidity, inconsideration, and just lack of respect.

Remember, these trails have homes, cottages, and in general PRIVATE PROPERTY around them. Stay on the trail, read the signs, and be respectful as these trails can be closed in a heart beat. Even driving to the trail, or on the highway in a convoy can give the 4x4 community a negative reputation. Generally people think of the off roading community as a bunch of people getting stuck in the mud and making a mess of the area. We are not those people and we don't need to add to that stereotype.

    The
Ontario federation of 4 wheel drive helps to keep these trails open and I don't expect anyone to pay for the maps or anything, but just don't mess up what these people have worked really hard for us to enjoy.

Look forward to meeting you all on the trails!

Don't waste money on aluminium and get steel, the places we wheel at will destroy your aluminium skids easily. You can check few pages back where I took off my steel skids and they had cracks on them. Aluminium wouldn't survive that.

Thanks. I hate to be that guy, but I think its important if we enjoy the places we wheel. The whole leave it better than you found it applies and no trace should apply as much as possible.

I planned steel all along but lately been thinking of the weight as a daily driver as well. Steel it is.
    How about bumper?

Eh, MPG is something that I get in my dreams now only.
Bumpers - I would go with aluminium, since you are not planning on hitting them like skids.
I will be going with ARB bumper tho.

My trucks my daily. I run all steel, winch with steel cable, tools, and up until recently a cap. I averaged 14-16mpg on 33's. I like having a steel bumper since I can fix it if I brake it which I have bent it a few times (still need to fix it from last trip). It all comes down on how you plan on using it.

    Pretty much what @NorilskSever said.

My tranny skid after a trip. It bent on the bed which theoretically is the strongest point.
