Warped discs again.

    Our Jeep Grand Cherokee is on its third set in four years. They keep warping in the front. Any thoughts? I just did them last fall and their pulsating again.

    Are you sure the disks are warped, and not the lugs over/un equally tightened?

    You could have a dragging caliper......Causing the disk to get hot. Go for a normal drive, and take a thermo reading of each side (asuming you have an IR thermometer).

    i think warped rotors are actually a common chrysler issue... i'd just make sure your calipers arent seized and replace the rotors and pads with high quality parts.

    VERY VERY Common issue with those vehicles..... and very annoying.

    We used to own a 99 Grand Cherokee (my mother-in-law owns it now).

    After we first bought it in 2001, we installed the TSB calipers & rotors. The TSB calipers are slightly larger but the rotors are the same - which doesn't make much sense. That might have lasted a year or so, and we actually towed with the vehicle once a month (6500lbs) back then. Honestly? I'm not really sure how effective the TSB calipers really were.... We sold the thing to my mother-in-law back in 2004 and we've replaced the rotors when we sold it to her and had them turned again about 2 years ago. She only drives 4,000 miles a year.

    Visit the JeepsUnlimited forum - those guys might give you some ideas.
    It's a long term Grand Cherokee issue and I think even the new ones have the same issues.
