Generally, unless it is one of those $150ish dollar oil changes. Most of the time the cheap ones go to the lube lane.

Today I had a front flat tire on the Subie. I quickly pulled over on the side of the highway and got it changed...that was the easy part. Went to closest Discount Tire for repair and the guy tells me not to put a donut tire in the front. I go WTF!!! I whip out the manual and sure enough!

The temporary spare tire must be used
only on a rear wheel. If a front wheel tire
gets punctured, replace the wheel with a
rear wheel and install the temporary spare
tire in place of the removed rear wheel.

How the hell are you suppose to accomplish this with one jack stand on the shoulder of the highway if I ever get another flat in the front. It will be like a monkey circus trying to solve this equation.

You change the rear tire out first with the spare than move the good rear tire to the front flat:D

Yes it's so you don't burn up the drivetrain with it rotating at a different speed.

But it's awd, either the front or the rear will be traveling at different speed so it dosent matter. The logic it put it on the rear so when people drive it like a normal tire and it blows you can still steer the car to safely stop.

The spare sould be the same diameter as the main tire, just skinnier. DONT go fast (uasuly over 45) because the donught will heat up too much eventually causing a blowout.

A lot. Check out my build page.
Looking to get the hi lift mount from RCI either today or tomorrow. Won’t be able to make it up to Ft Collins before then. Anyone know somewhere locally around Denver I can pick one up?
