Then your dealer is straight up lying to you, or clueless.

Done. Extremely easy. Watch the tabs on the top column cover. It was getting stuck and not popping on like it should till I looked down and saw it. Might have to nudge it with a finger.

being i had already read this thread awhile ago, i did order one. not from my dealer because they were 25% more. but to get a price you have to submit a request on there site. they called because they thought it was a warranty issue. i didn't tell them about this forum, but will be glad to rub in there face later

Well said. That was the hardest part of a very easy upgrade.
I got my switch from Gunny1005.

    Hey Everybody,
Question, I swapped mine out, but the intermittent speed selection is backwards.
At the narrow end, the time between wipes is longer, and at the wide end, the time between wipes is shorter.
Any idea why it would be doing this? I plugged everything in according to the OP, and didnt think there was any other way it could go.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
That's normal operation. I understand your thought process, and I agree with it. But you're good to go as far as Toyota is concerned!

I ordered the turn signal switch on Amazon a week ago and it came today. As is the case more often than not the box looked like it was stepped on by a Sasquatch. When I opened it pieces of plastic came rolling out of the bag. In less than a half hour I received the switch, took the pictures, boxed it up, turned in a claim for replacement, printed the label and shipped it back for a second try.

I bought the switch on Amazon. Today it arrived for the second time from UPS but this time it wasn't broken because they used packing material. The first one they sent looked like it was stepped on by big foot. It took about 15 mins to install from start to finish. Great pictures and instructions, thank you.

I just wanted to add, I looked up the original sheets from two 2016 Tacoma SRs from when I was looking to buy a Tacoma, each at a different dealer. Both were 4 cyl, SR, 5 speed manual, 4x4, convenience package, alloy wheels and mats. I bought one of these because it was my first choice of color, however, on the sheet both vehicles listed intermittent wipers in the column "Standard Equipment" "Interior" . I found out it didn't have intermittent wipers the first time it rained. Heated mirrors was not listed (just lists power "Pwr Side Mirrors") but I found out I had them about a year and a half after I bought it. Life is a mystery.

My 2017 Tacoma SR didn't come with intermittent wipers. My dealer gave me no answer, so I called Toyota. They gave me the name of a Toyota Dealer 40 miles from me. I called and they said they have the part.
So I called my dealer. They said they would get back to me. They did and said the guy couldn't find the number to order it with.( This gets better) So I was in the shop with my truck, and they looked at my numbers on the truck, he went in the back and came out with a price of $707. He says the motor would have to be replaced. When these trucks are made, they just put in wiper motors, not one with and one without. They just change the switch and then lie to you when you want the new feature. I am contacting our junk yard. The same part will work on Corollas, Tundras, and most likely Camrys

I have 2 build sheets from the dealer (one was my truck) from when I was shopping for my 2016 SR that both list intermittent wipers. My father bought the cheapest 2016 corolla you can buy and it had intermittent wipers. I got my switch new on Amazon for about $130. Took about 10 minutes to install at night using flashlights to see. Here is the link to the switch I bought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KTKJEEE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well I was lied to by my Dealer. I was told It would cost me $707!! To put a new wiper motor and a switch. I told them all I need is a switch. They looked at me like I had no idea what I was talking about. They had no number to look it up! That's funny, I got it on our website! Why doesn't the Toyota Dealer use Tacoma World for part numbers!!!!!!!
So I went to the junkyard ( treasures yard)) They took the switch off of a 2014 Toyota Camary. The guy in the yard had trouble getting it off the car. He had a broken column and the airbags to deal with. I paid $50 for it. My Son-In Law put it on in 4-5 minutes. Guess what?? I have variable speed wipers that my dealer was going to charge me over $700 for! I am going to have a word with him!! Now I don't trust the service department. If they did that with me, what are they telling other people????!!!!!
