    Depends what size tires you're running and what you're doing with the truck. I went to 4.56's because I was running 33" tires. Now I am on 35" tires and I could use a little more gearing. Not enough to warrant spending the money to change mine, but if I ever break anything, I'll jump up to 4.88's while I'm in there

    Gotcha....I asked that presuming most have jumped to a bigger tire. I wanted to see if people have, what’s the gear of choice.

    I would say anything up to a 33" tire go with 4.56. No sense in going with any less gearing. And anything bigger than a 33 go 4.88's or higher. But usually you don't go to that big of a tire just for looks. You're probably doing some sort of serious off reading. Higher speed desert guys might like 4.88's where rock crawling guys may jump all the way to 5.29's

    Not what I wanted to read... with the 3.73s and 33s my truck feels fine. I bought 35s and 4.56 diffs but haven't installed. I've seen mixed answers with this though. Some guys say 4.88s are too much for 35s so I figured with the added power of the supercharger 4.56s would suffice. Right now it's just a desert truck but I want to daily my Tacoma once I sell my daily driver so that's another reason why I picked the 4.56s gears.

    The 4.56's and 35's really aren't bad at all. They are perfect with the 33's and I just want more power. But like I said it's not worth the time and money to go from 4.56 to 4.88. So if I break something I'll make the change. You going from stock to 4.56's and 35's you'll be very happy. I just went up in tire size while already having gearing so I felt the loss in power, even though it wasn't that much

    I went 4.56s with 35's and the ratios are damn near at stock (rpm-wise). I also ran 33's for a few years with stock gears and had zero issues. Back when I was doing the homework on gearing/tire size, i read most equated 4.56 with 35s. I think 4.88's may be a touch more than whats needed, but thats solely my opinion based off my experience with 4.56. I think 4.88s may still keep you in the "threshold" but its on the edge of it.

    Ill try to find the chart for reference...

    What lift with 35's? Did they slow you down from 33's? I like the look and I'm about to need new tires. I'm assuming there was some major cab-mount trimming.

    4.56's and 33's here... But boosted too. I'll eventually go to 34's... And should still be about perfect.

    I like it. It's slightly overgeared.. but that's ok #becauseperformance. Plenty of power. Feels like it did back when it was stock... As far as peppyness goes.

    With some of you guys in the Phx area considering the quickchange pullies, unless the snout trimmer is only good for one go around I'd pony up some $ to get one and do a Sat swap down there and leave the trimmer with someone else.

    I can’t belive it either. You would have thought someone on XRU would have thought of this years ago. I took mine out; definitely runs better especially in the higher rpms. Curious what else is being restricted lol.
