I've been monitoring Tacoma inventory weekly in my area since mid October. Some dealers are showing a slow but steady decline while others have gotten additional inventory, including this past week. There are 500 DC 4x2/4x4 OR and Sport models within a two hour drive of me. I've also compared Toyota's inventory to comparable models of the Ridgeline, Colorado, and Frontier. There are exponentially more Tacomas on the market still. I've wasted a lot of time with my research.

I'm [im]patiently waiting for my house to close this month so I can start negotiating for a 4x4 OR.

    edit: Dealer totals 10/16-11/05

Actually, no. A temporary delay in the supply chain for repair bolts and gaskets is more likely due to the fact that the supplier's obligation was to the production facility. Spare parts don't come from the assembly line.

Toyota became the largest auto manufacturer in the world by shipping product. The priority for any auto manufacturer is units out the door. Do not under estimate the importance of that statement.

A simple mind and simple math aren't the same thing.

It's because of the pending war with N. Korea. They are waiting it out.

It's actually because Toyota is fully aware that they can wait however long they want right now because the only real competition in the mid size market, for now, is buy a 2016/17 Tacoma or wait for a 2018 Tacoma.

So really it makes no difference to them.

Tacoma Behind the times? phhhwwt. That would easily be Nissan Frontier, way behind the times. They are very proud of their 2005 design.

Any insight on 2018 pricing? We are still looking for invoice (yeah we know) numbers, package pricing, and options. Is holdback still 2% of MSRP for the new year?
