Sorry it took so long to respond. I forgot about this question...

My uncle says Kermit has a 1776 engine. It's the original block, bored out and with new heads.

1641 and 1776 were very common mods back in the day. Figured it might be one or the other. Probably has 041 heads on it too.

    @Plain Jane Taco

I've developed quite a loyal following on the Tundra forum too, and I don't know if you knew this, but a lot people who own white Tundras call them "Stormtroopers."

I wonder if I could hack my aftermarket Boss head unit to display the "Tacoma" logo on startup?

Here's my screen off image. Looks pink in the pic...but actually very red in person.

Bill told me all sorts of crazy stories about things that had happened at the nursing home over the years..:

    Some of these stories included:

A female employee who forgot to set the parking brake in her Mustang and/or forgot to put in Park, which resulted in the car rolling right through the front exterior wall, and into one of the residents' bedrooms. I don't remember if the room was occupied at the time the Mustang came in uninvited, but nobody was hurt.

Another female employee acted as the getaway driver during a bank robbery, and the feds showed up at the nursing home to arrest her. She ended up being handcuffed and perp-walked out of the building in front of her coworkers!

A mother cat and her newborn kittens somehow ended up in the hydraulic trash compactor around back. It was not entirely clear whether the feline family had been dumped in the trash compactor on purpose, or if the mother cat had taken up shelter in there because it was warm and ended up giving birth. Bill told me the story, but I'm not entirely sure if he was the one who rescued them or not. Either way, the mom and kittens were all unharmed and in good health, and ended up being taken to a shelter where they all found homes.

An elderly resident of the nursing home who somehow ended up in the trash compactor! This is the story that I am getting mixed up with the cat story. I forget whether Bill rescued the cats or the senior citizen. Hell, he might have rescued both. Either way, this was definitely an accident. After all, most nursing home residents are senior citizens in various stages of Alzheimer's and dementia. I don't remember if the resident in question was a man or a woman, but if I remember correctly I don't even think they fell in. It was very hard to accidentally fall into the trash compactor. The only way in is a chute/slide, and I'm thinking the resident believed it was some sort of amusement ride. The resident was found totally unharmed, and they didn't seem to be in any hurry to get out, either. This person was just sitting in the compactor talking to themselves...

To give you an idea of just how big the aforementioned trash compactor was, here's a picture that I took of the thing in late 2008 or early 2009...

And then, the story that I absentmindedly repeated in mixed company, which subsequently led to Bill being much more careful about what he told me. Actually, that's understatement. Bill flat out told me that he wasn't going to tell me stuff about residents, especially current residents, anymore. He continued to discuss past stories of employee fuckups, trash compactor-related incidents, and funny shit that residents did, but he never passed on any gossip after that...

One of the residents of this nursing home was a guy in his 60s or 70s. Compared to the other residents, he seemed borderline normal. In layperson's terms, I would consider him to be all there. That is, he didn't seem to have Alzheimer's, dementia, or any other memory issues. He could also get around largely on his own, as in without the use of a wheelchair or walker. He used a cane when he walked, but he could walk. He could carry on an intelligent conversation, and seemed quite friendly. I even heard that he had a valid driver's license and owned a car. He had a wife, who her apparently either never held a driver's license in her life or had given up driving due to health problems. She came to visit him regularly, taking a shuttle bus from their house to the nursing home, and back again...

I later found out that this particular resident was apparently an abusive alcoholic. He would drink heavily and both emotionally and physically abuse his wife. He was apparently responsible enough (or lucky enough) to not get a DUI, as he still had a valid driver's license and supposedly had a nice Oldsmobile sitting unused in the driveway. They may have actually lived in a retirement community, but I'm pretty sure they lived in an actual house that they owned.

So, obviously it's pretty much impossible to break a man who's 65+ years old of his drinking habit, or any kind of habit for that matter...

The 70-year old man who hit my Tacoma while driving drunk two years is living proof of that...

For some reason, the only solution was put the guy in the nursing home. There, he was away from the booze, and away from his car which he could use to drive to a bar, or perhaps even worse buy booze at a state store or beer distributor and bring it back home. He was apparently a "Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde" type, meaning he was a totally different person when sober. I don't think they were keeping him there while he was 12-stepping. I think this was a last resort. His wife was just so sick of his drinking and the meanness that accompanied the drinking that she put him in a nursing home. They obviously still loved each other; If she didn't love him, she would have divorced him instead of staying married to him, putting him in a nursing home, and visiting him at least once a week. I can only imagine what his wife was paying to keep him there. I'd imagine that since he wasn't there for the typical health issues, their insurance probably didn't cover it...

I voted in the midterm elections today!

Did you vote in the midterms today? Remember, it's your civic duty as an American.

Who you voted for does not matter. Your political beliefs don't matter, either. After all, there's a reason the voting booth has a curtain!

Just get out there and vote! Exercise your rights, dammit!

I'll be voting when I get out of work. Have to drive to the dealership to pick up my tags that are finally in, and will drop by afterwards.

Rainy and dark here, so I am sure traffic will be terrific! [/sarcasm font]

I have a bunch of pictures I took around Doylestown with my SLR right before Halloween that I plan on posting tonight...

In the meantime, here are some "preview" photos I took with my iPhone about 10 minutes ago...

Here, we see the freshly-poured basement of a brand new house...

    image.jpg

The owners of that light blue house next door subdivided their land into 4 lots (3 vacant, and 1 with the house they still live in). So far, only the one lot has been sold but I doubt that'll be the case for much longer.

Poking out from behind the bulldozer, you see a salmon-colored house with green shutters. This house has been vacant for over a year, but was recently purchased and is currently being gutted and totally renovated...

    image.jpg
The bulldozer in the picture above also happens to be sitting on one of the subdivided lots.

Just beyond the bulldozer, you also see a brand new house going up. The price of that house? About $3 million!

    image.jpg

And then on the other side of the blue house, we see one of two remaining vacant lots...

UPDATE: So I followed the instructions from the link you sent me, and all symptoms point to a bad sensor. So, tonight I made an appointment with the dealer and dropped it off. I got a free loaner (2017 Toyota Camry), and my truck should be ready tomorrow afternoon.

This heat pump is located along a path my coworkers and I take between our bar and another bar in drinking nights.

The building has been vacant for years, and as such this heat pump hasn't been used in years.

One of my friends, while totally hammered, took a leak behind this heat pump because he knew the line for the bathroom at the bar we were going to would be long...

This is one of many brand new homes going up in Doylestown Borough. There was previously a 1950s brick ranch house at this piece of property on Oakland Avenue. A wealthy individual bought the property, had the rancher torn down in 2015, and construction finally started on this $3 million home towards the end of the summer in 2016.
