If low end torque is very important to you, then the 2015 is a no brainer since it comes with the 4.0. The newer 3.5 liter in the 2016+ tacomas comes with more horsepower & torque, but you just have to rev it up more to get those ponies & ft/lbs. Either way, you cant go wrong with a tacoma, especially if you're using it primarily for camping and off roading. Both have proven motors, the 4.0 arguably more so, but the 3.5 was also used by Lexus for all kinds of vehicles prior to it being put in the taco so it's going to be a good motor long term as well. If it was me, i would personally look at getting a 2015, or go with a 2018 once they come out if you want to go with a new truck since more of the kinks and little problems will be more worked out with the newer third gen truck. The styling differences between the 2nd and 3rd gens are all subjective so its up to you as far as that goes since you're the one who is going to have to look at it everyday. I personally dig the 2nd gens and can't stand the grill on the 3rd gens, but i hear that the interiors are nicer on the 2016+ trucks. Let me know if you have any questions, and welcome aboard! Hope to see you back on here once you decide on which one you are gonna go with!

Thanks a lot I really like the looks of Both I think the only thing is to find a nice condition 15 cost nearly as much as a new one so then I’m like I can get a new one for a few more thousands if you find any clean ones let me know

Will do! Yeah the resale value on tacoma's are high to say the least so it hurts whenever you buy a used one and it costs nearly as much as a new one.. but you cant go wrong either way, they're great trucks, and that's why they hold their value so well.

Ran into this problem myself when I was looking for my truck. I could've spent another couple thousand and bought a new truck but I'm happy with my decision on a used truck

Yep, me too, i paid top dollar for my 2013, but i really wanted a 4.0 6spd 4x4 and they were getting hard to find. Totally satisfied with my purchase though

I picked up a '12. I looked at a bunch of dealerships and private sales but I held out for the body style and color I wanted and I think it was worth it. I think of buying a Tacoma as an invenstment:thumbsup:

I have a 2009 & a 2013 but the body style is the same for the 12-15 models. Same 4.0 motor from 2005-2015
