I just had the leaf springs replaced and the frame reacoated due to recalls. They also replaced the brake line because the leaf spring failed and it dropped onto the brake line. I hear this is common. Do I have more fun like this to look forward to? I love this truck but hate the idea that it is going to have more rust issues. I live up north where we put plent of salt on our roads.

Welcome in Marilyn!! Glad to have ya!! :hattip:

Sounds like you did all the right things but just keep an eye on your frame. I'm in Houston and cold for us is 60 degrees, but I understand recoating the frame regularly will help as well. More will chime in that live in the great White North!

    Post some pics too!

Welcome! There should be lots of how to's on rust prevention on this site. I know that POR-15 and fluid film are a couple of DIY products that you can use to keep your frame in good shape.

(this is about all I know about this though since I live in tx and the winters don't get cold here.. Sorry I cant be more help)

My rear bumper has got rust on it also. I was thinking of getting a Chrome bumper also. Do y’all have any ideas as to where to get one ?

Looking on your local craigslist is probably the easiest since lots of folks take theirs off and want to sell it after upgrading to an aftermarket rear bumper.

Another thing you might try is posting in one of the regional forums near you stating that youre looking for one. Heres a link to the regional forum area

Welcome to TW! Sorry to hear about your rust issues. It's something that needs to be constantly monitored though.
