I love my Pro, but I can’t f**kin stand driving on the interstate. Even with ECT on, all the pointless gear shifting at the slightest incline, etc. I’ve found driving with a table (or anything) sticking out the back of the bed that catches wind resistance makes it 10x worse. I’ve been getting 15-16mpg on interstate with a table in the back. Again, I love my truck... but this is starting to get painfully annoying. Around town if I’m driving normally it’s not a problem, and I’m averaging 20~ mpg, I can’t be alone in feeling this way

    Look into OVTune.

Completely remaps the stock ECU tune and wakes the motor up. Tons of people have done it and swear by it. Definitely better to spend $700 on that than to trade in the Taco and take the depreciation hit.

Sure read this a lot and I do remember now the 17 did this. I'm waiting on my 18 which is due next month and I'm going to tell.them I need to take long test.drive on hyw.and on hills.on hyw. I drive over 30k a year and this would be annoying.

Yours will be the same way. My wife looks at me when we are on the highway on a stretch and it starts all that junk. I just say "here we go again...." lol. I still enjoy the truck but I am like 95% city driving, so I'm not as affected by it as others. You'l need to drive 800-1000 miles before it starts doing it after the self learning stuff.

Well I'm opposite and 95% the and lots of miles. I Really like.the tacoma lools.and interior so much better than my 16 Colorado diesel. Had a 15 tundra crew 4x4 before that. I just like toyota better. Still have our 04 gx 460 ad third vehicle because I didn't trade it when we got wife new vw diesel tourareg back in Dec 14. The gx has.the normal cracked.dash.and little over 103k miles on it and ive been driving it to and from work all week the last month keeping miles.off.thw colorado because I'll be trading in next month. The.gx has been good too. I also had 3.other tundra's and 2 older tacoma s before the tundra. I no.longer need full size and honestly driving the colorado last 2 yrs.and 50k miles I can say the smaller truck.really is lot more fun and fits lot better with just wife and I. It runs real.smooth and can run 80 and not ever drop.a gear. It never hunts. That said again I really like the tacoma styling and interior. That said I guess I'll tell.dealer.when the 18 arrives I want to.run it.hard.on hyw for.at least 20 miles and up hill too. Not sure.that will.really do it or not. Dang I wish they would fix that issue.

I'm hoping they'll come out with a fix. Would make the truck almost completely perfect imo....except for needing more power, but what doesn't? Lol
