According to him, I was the first to test and install his kit on the Taco. I have no check engine lights, limp mode etc... For the money his kit saved me it was definitely worth the $50. Truck running great !

I suspect that it will work with the V-6 as well. Keep us posted !

Fellas.....Hey. I didnt go back all 20 pages on this post but I'm trying to catch up.
@Pigpen.....been emailing you man:) need some info. Looks like the V6 tacos are Denso MAF sensors......all of the V8's I've been doing kits for are Hitachi branded sensors. The pinout appears to be the same (wire 4 is THA on both Hitachi and Denso)
hdpower......was your 4Cy Hitachi or Denso?
Edit: Nevermind hdpower.....looked back in emails and you sent me a pic.....your is a Hitachi. So the V6 are indeed different.

I keep forgetting to get measurements. I've been busy. Is there anything else I can do to help make this work for the V6? I have the weekend off.

Sorry for the delay Slyfox75, Yes it is Hitachi. Hopefully your kit will work for the Denso as well. My truck has been running great so far, no codes or problems !

So I have done the saip foam delete with the uni filter. Now I haven't read all the pages on this thread but seeing how this is going to affect our trucks and wallets, I was thinking about how we can get ahead of this.

We know there's the foam issue which seems to be corrected but we have to deal with moisture now screwing up the diverters. Why can't we plumb in say a high temp hose to a higher/better location or even right into the intake?

    Here is a bulkhead fitting
    https://goo.gl/images/sko2WF

Put this in before /after the filter, pin it so it won't come out and go where it's not supposed to go, suitable 90 degree fitting to a high temp hose. It would be wicked clean and solve this issue.

    Thoughts?

The foam is only one part of the problem. The valves often fail when the foam is perfectly fine. Bypassing the system, like with this kit, is the solution.

I got my kit in the mail. Old man winter is in full effect right now and I'm moving next week. I'm not sure when I'm going to be getting around to installing it. The new spot has a garage, so once I'm in I'll hopefully find the time -assuming we don't go into seriously cold temps (not an assumption worth making in NW Montana).

    Here's a thought folks (especially @slyfox75 ):

When we bypass the system, can we delete the pump. That's some valuable real estate being wasted in there!

How exactly does running a hose to the intake tube change anything? The intake is still pulling air from the fender at startup. I'm not sure I see how that air source is any different from a filter pulling from the engine compartment. If I have understood your proposed solution correctly. I think the fact of the matter is the valve material is just garbage no matter what air is being pulled in.

Figure out a way to plumb in an air dryer like you have on an air compressor if that would even work and that would capture the moisture eliminating the issue.

    Unfortunately no.
Gotta keep the pump in there. The ECU does other checks on the system.....one of which is to check to ensure the motor/pump is not shorted or removed/disconnected. So it will all stay there....and collect dust. Another reason to do the bypass.....a lot of the older vehicles (05-07) have had the pumps fail electrically as well. The bypass wont help there. BUT.....if you bypass the system before you have issues, the pump will just sit and remain in good shape vs shorting out due to usage. I guess heat cycles could get the windings over time as well but I'm going on 4 years of bypassed system with no issues. 2UZ-FE V-8 4Runner.

Side note.....I guess you COULD disconnect the pump.....you will just get CEL lights. I think performance will be fine tho(not tested, but cant imagine anything significant)

slyfox75; In your last sentence you mention disconnect the pump... you will just get CEL lights. Does this mean you can drive normally without limp mode? Do you know anyone that tried this? Thoughts

Nope.......pump and valves are small parts of a larger system. The ecu looks at exhaust pressure differential to know if valves are open or closed.....has nothing to do with the pump.
Unplugging pump will not get you out of limp mode.

Install was a success!! Super easy and cheap insurance for a stupid, useless (and expensive) system.

Great kit!! @slyfox75 was really helpful, as the guinea pig, I had to contact him about which wire to cut. Easy peasy

I was 50 miles from pavement yesterday when I remembered I had recently installed mine. No hiccups. Works great!

Now to figure out a pump delete without codes or CEL...

I need a 2013+ 4.0 with some of the AIP codes to act as my next guinea pig. I have wiring harness that will eliminate the need to cut any cables. Will be ready to ship later this week or early next, but I want someone with codes present. The 2013 is programmed a little differently on the 4.0 and I need to test this thing out. Again, this test will require some time on your part but no cable cutting.
