If you're asking if the cable ovtune provides could also be used with techstream SW, the answer is yes.

I'm assuming that each calibration kit is specific to one vehicle?
You can't use it on multiple trucks?

My understanding is that the tune itself is truck specific, but the kit can be used to install tunes on an unlimited # of vehicles...you just need to purchase a tune for each individual vehicle.

I'm only seeing the complete kit on ovtuned
Maybe after an email can I purchase just the tune?

Theres an option to send in your ECU and he will flash it and send it back to you, that way you dont have to purchase the kit. Cons- if you want a different variation of the tune or if the tune is updated which it will be, you will have to send your ECU back to get reflashed.

    I'm hoping to avoid that
Maybe I can buy a tune and they can send it to me

I had a Subaru and this was how I was able to drive the car to the tuner after modifications were done

Does anyone’s get stuck in fourth? Mine did it with the ssp and now does it with the tune.

It will stay in fourth even at light throttle up to almost 5k. Even letting off it won’t shift to fifth. When it’s stuck and around 4k I can flip the lever over to sport and up one and shifts right away.

Likely my tire size but mine is pretty much the same in drive as without the tune. With the exception of that occasional sticking 4th. However other times it’ll go to 4th at around 30-35 mph (uncorrected) and sub 2k rpm when I’m off the freeway and mid-light throttle.

I like the tune in sport mode though!

    Well you have two options
    1. Buy the kit and flash your ecu your self.

    2. Take your ecu out and ship it to him so he can flash it.

The kit makes more sense as the flash seems to be ‘updated’ from time to time to work out the kinks. Then you could just simply flash it your self as tweaks/updates are released

    Right
My question is can someone with an off-road buy the kit for (16+ auto with crawl mode)
And I use their unlocked kit to install the (16+ auto) tune on my sport (without crawl mode)

    Ovtune said this earlier
Our kits are not car locked. You can actually share them with other Tacoma owners, our tunes are locked.

you can use one kit for both of your trucks, you just need to purchase an additional file license for the extra truck.

    Awesome
Can this be done through your site or is a phone call needed
A kit was just purchased for an off-road I have a sport
Getting them done together would be awesome

one you get the kit and do the first truck we can get everything else done very easily over email. Just read the ECUs on both trucks we can invoice you for the other truck.

Now that I have >2K on the 1.02C (A) tune my truck with 34" will hold 4th a lot more than it ever did. But I think it is based on what it has learned. I think it is reluctant to shift to 5th because as soon as it does it will need to down shift shortly there after, even with light pedal input.

One journey when towing my dirt bike, mostly with cruise control on I could go from 65 to 78mph with the cruise control and it wouldn't change to 5th until I killed cruise control and slowed. Didn't do it on the return trip though.

Mine does this as well. It will hold 4th much much longer than stock. in some cases this is awesome and in other cases its damn annoying. Ultimately, I like that it holds 4th longer. Worst thing I have to do is put it in sport and shift to 5th and all is well again.

And for those looking for the cost I searched way back in the original alpha thread, and it would be $305 to buy a license alone if you're using someone else's kit.
