I tow a vintage 16 ft camper with my 2014 Tacoma and m looking into the feasibility of a bicycle rack that installs over the tonneau, possibly attached to the top edges of the truck bed.

You can use the drill through options from Yakima and Thule also. They only seem less expensive than some of the small operation options, they really arent - once you add up all the needed parts.

Check out the side of the truck rack from @KB Voodoo as an out of the bed option.

The drill through would only work if he had a 1 piece solid bed cover. Obviously no good on a soft cover, and if a hard folding cover, you will make it so it won't fold flat.

He said "possibly" attaches to the sides of the truck bed. I took this to mean that attaching it to the tonneau was an option.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts. I will continue to research this idea. If I do find a workable solution, I will post pictures.

Wishing all Veterans and Active/Guard/Reserve service members a Blessed Veterans Day.
