Here is what I did today.

Have you ever woken up with a wild hair? In my case is it was a long night shift; during which I had time to think.

First I thought about this by @Rons01TRD...

Which made me think of this ...

    upload_2017-11-8_14-26-6.jpg
Which, after some research, led to this....

    upload_2017-11-8_14-26-36.jpg

    and this

    upload_2017-11-8_14-26-58.jpg

and since I was replacing my valve covers, due to a leak, and had the replacements on my bench.
    I did this...

    upload_2017-11-8_14-29-35.jpg

    and then this ...

    upload_2017-11-8_14-30-15.jpg

    and ended up with this...

    upload_2017-11-8_14-30-55.jpg

If I was 18 years old I could probably get away with it. But I'm 52. What the heck.

If you hate it. Let me know. I can take it. There was a point last night where I almost got out the paint stripper.
I like the valve covers but I think the plenum paint may be a bit much.

If you like it. Let me know. I'm gonna live with it for a while at least.

It's a good kind of gaudy.

At first i thought it was awful, but i think if you paint the bare part of the top plenum white to match the valve covers it will look better.

I'm thinking this is a good idea.

That was my original thought too, well actually second thought. My original though was the plenum would be all white. Then I started thinking about the red orange yellow color scheme and that went through a lot of iterations. Red | White |Orange | White | Yellow | White, then White | Red | Red | Orange | Yellow | White, then Red | Red | Red | Orange | Orange | Yellow.

I like your idea but I've also thought that an all white plenum with red / orange / yellow stipes running across the Toyota emblem would have been better and much easier.

All white and then just one runner red, one orange, one yellow would have been kinda cool i think. Or just a stripe on the runner.

I think I would like it more with the rest of the plenum white.
I think I am voting with this as well, or just painting whatever is silver still to white.

actually, even cooler, just paint the first three valleys of the runners the red/orange/yellow. So it looks more like stripes.

Yup! I sure did. I have bigger than the stock size 3rd Gen tires (New BFG KO2 P265/75R16 vs. Stock Goodyear Wrangler P265/70R16) and there is some rubbing on the UCA at absolute full lock on the stock suspension. I don't know about the stock Goodyear tires, but they might not rub since it has a smaller aspect ratio. I will have to run wheel spacers.

My old tires are Michelin XLT A/S P235/75/R15
