Has any one replaced the OEM fog light switch with an Air On Board switch or with the FJ Switch? I would like to replace mine with either one of these but I have searched and found several threads but none showing how to do it so it works properly.

Thanks for bumping this, as it was a great afternoon project while watching the kids! Now I’ll just have to wait for my yellow laminx to burn off! Lol

Looking to do the same setup where I can just run fogs with headlights off. Where did you run the leads for the wiring coming off the relay. More importantly, the constant 12v?

Has anyone run into the issue when installing the "Brown Wire" male space into the AC/DC relay slot where it pushes the relay pin back up into the relay?

Had this issue last night when trying to do this mod. The fog lights work great but now my bed outlet doesn't work because of this. Would it be safe to shave down the bent male spade connector?

I filed the blade of the new bent terminal down so the width was narrow enough to fit into the slot in front of where the relay leg goes. I do not have a picture of that location, all I have is a picture showing the terminal after it was bent and files down. It is circled in red.wire.jpg

Does anyone know if this mod is possible on FJs?

This is not my picture, but was in a previous post, hopefully it helps show where the bent terminal goes. But yo will probably have to get / file the terminal to fit in the front slot.

Now I see where you're getting at... thanks!
I've been trying to shove the standard width blade connector in the back with the relay and it does nothing but push the pin back up.

I wouldn't know where to start to get that. I was only curious because a buddy has an FJ and would like to do something like this.
The only reason I could do it is because I can follow instructions (Unless it involves a hardheaded stuck relay).:ballchain:

So I tried grinding down the width of the bent connector and placing it in front of the AC/D.C. Relay but it still didn't change anything...

The mod works but my Bed Outlet button still lights up only when it's held down but doesn't stay on and supply any power like it's supposed to.

    Did I blow a fuse?

Probably not, but you may have ruined the relay. I had this happen on mine and it would show the power lights but no power to plug.

damn... Now once you replaced the AC/DC relay, did it solve the problem?

You mentioned previously that it pushed the relay "pin" up into the relay. You destroyed the relay.

Yes. I wasn't doing this mod when it happened. I have done this mod since in a little different way and all is good.

    This and that...

Does the gray AC relay pop off also or do you need to slide it in under the cap? Does the brown connector share the slot with the relay plug when you put it back in? Thanks!
