Comments and concerns don't have to be exclusive to 3rd gen owners in this instance. A plate bumper is a plate bumper, and what applies to us applies to you as well in a general sense.

I'm actually pretty willing to purchase it just to lab-rat it, worse case scenario I return it... One things I'm not sure of is whether or not it requires trimming any body panels

Looks to me like it doesn't since it goes all the way up to the headlights. I say go for it!

Understood, except our trucks arent the same and we dont know if its the same supplier or what the fitments are going to be like

Very true! I don't think anyone is thinking it's the same supplier or anything, but merely stating some probable issues that arise from buying an inexpensive bumper. For what it's worth the other eBay bumper can take a beating.

The problem ive seen repeatedly with 3rd front bumpers are:
    1. Most look like smacked ass, and no where near what made second gens attractive.

    2. Most people dont what to fork up 800 bucks for a basic raw steel bumper, then 150 for powercoat, then another 200 for shipping.

Just a few things ive seen on my search for a 3rd gen fromt bumper.

Fair enough good sir... Hopefully the fitment isnt too bad... Still got some adjustments to make myself to it like installing a stinger, winch mount, and remove that crosshatch metal stuff so I can cram fog lights in there

Whats the point if you can't put a winch in it. Personally, I would not spend a penny on a bumper that a winch can't go in.

Chinese junk, probably start rusting faster than a 10 year old first gen frame!

Thats the only thing I'm worried about, which is why I'm considering fabricating something myself

Mobtown has a 25% off coupon- code at checkout is Blackfriday2017. That puts their basic front steel plate bumper to less than $900 now.

Then there’s places like Movebumpers.com that sell weld your own plate bumper kits for less than $500, but without the proper jig, excluding using your own truck, it would be hard to get a good fit.

I think the 3rd gen bumpers that cut into the bumper are good looking like CBI's.

It's just the full bumper replacements that look monstrous IMO like this one

Yeah, It sucks because I dont want to cut my front for a bumper. And i cant stand how big they are if you dont cut.
