Platform with drawers is where it's at. I love being able to sleep in my bed in a pinch.

did you sell your tent already? I like sleeping in a tent rather than a hammock. Ive tried 2 times, but failed each time. I need to be on something, and not hanging. I slept on the bedslide at Rausch.. on an air mattress. It was meh.. I had to take everything out of the truck, to put the mattress in.

That was my plan as well, until I did it. It's comfy when you're actually laying down, but crawling in and out is a pain, and depending how much gear you have in the bed you have to take it out. Luckily now I'm bringing less gear so I can just shove it off to the side and sleep on the other side.

maybe he wants a mini home. That looks like the place to kick off your shoes and relax, while everyone is scrambling to get the tents up in the rain. But a high top cap would work better

so the edges would be flip up storage things instead of drawers and the middle would be general bed space i guess?

make it modular so you can have a loveseat, or a double bed, or put your bike in there, but also have cabinet space for your spices when camping. And gotta have an arm rest

These are pretty awesome designs, but the other thing is Im not a full-time overlander either lol I kinda wanna be able to pop things out relatively quick if I need all the bed space to move furniture or scrap or something. Im sure theres some ways to make these things quick disconnect from the bed though. Haven't looked into designs too much. Thanks for all the ideas lol

That's how I built mine. The whole thing is two pieces and can be removed in a couple minutes with two people, or just me if I'm feeling motivated.

@Lux i am not sure but in my experience with pre-tacomas a cap offa reg cab WILL fit an ext cab. But a extended cab WILL NOT FIT a reg cab.
The reg cab is straight up and down where the ext cab is slanted.
Example black truck is reg cab
    Green truck is ext cab
Sorry just snapped them picks and it was dark.

How would you even properly torque that? Just curious.
