Is "your friend" itching for a stick burner or just trying to up the available capacity? Is it getting setup in the back yard or will we occasionally see it attached to the ass end of a Tacoma?

Tell your friend to give us some details!!! ;)

$1,500 is kind of a tweener budget. Custom stuff is usually a bit over that for any appreciable jump in size from a WSM. You can do well at a retail store, like Academy, for a bit below that, too. I poked around a few smokers up there and was rather impressed with the thickness on some of them and the fit was reasonable enough. Nothing $25 and a little time wouldn't improve upon, but reasonable nonetheless. A grand or more can be hard to spend on something used, but there are some good deals to be had on forums like the BBQ Brethren. Used, sure, but almost always well cared for.

I'm a sucker for vertical offsets, but not everyone else is.

I’m not even in the market (I have no need), but I was looking at some at Academy just a few weeks ago. It was their grand opening and some deals were to be had IMO. Can’t even remember the “brand name” but noticed the gauge of the metal and decent looking welds.

Friend wants both a stick burner and the WSM. Stick burner may get towed infrequently for big gatherings. Alright, fck, I just like how they look. Flog me now.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I've only got the 22 WSM. So every smoke needs to have both grates filled to make it worth my while.

Maybe a turkey + beer can chickens?

    And ham, ribs, sausage, etc...

That's pretty much where I am with my 22wsm, especially since I converted my smokey Joe.

People usually like turkey legs and whole turkeys seem to always come with just two of the damn things. Maybe throw some extra turkey legs on instead of the chickens?

Otherwise, bacon wrapped onion rings for appetizer/finger food?

Stick burners definitely feel like the root of BBQ. Of course, that means a lot of fire tending. A trailer rig would be really kick ass. Any custom fabricators in your area?

Be ready to get volunteered to do the cooking for all sorts of bigger events .

Drinking last night almost gained me a new Traeger...but somebody sniped my bid with less than 10 seconds left. Unsure if that’s good or bad. :notsure:

Full story some meat packer new kid packaged bone in ribeye as NY strip @ 8.99 lb =/- $40.00 a pack(already saving a couple bucks) then it is turned into a family pack @ 5.77lb so around $27.00 a pack and then the dumb dumb manager specials it as "skirt steak" @ 3.59 lb :rofl::D I bought all five packs they had at around $16 bucks a piece. Spent $83.14 for over $200+ of USDA Choice :thumbsup: 23.lbs of meat!!

TLDR: Meat dummy marked down ribeye as skirt steak and I scored big time!

Last couple of times I have got them from Amazon. There is a local place to me that has had them but it's not real close and their store hours are stupid crazy so I never get over there. Was funny to get 40lb pages of pellet's delivered in a box by the UPS guy. Was funny to watch him carry it up there.

The thing is, my family loves the white meat from the breast. I'm the only one to eat the wings and legs. So 2 each is more than enough from me.
