Updated my Ham radio setup from an Icom 5100 to a Kenwood D710G, for easier APRS capabilities. Man, the Kenwood is a great setup - the native APRS works well, and integration with Mobilinkd+APRSDroid was pretty simple too (though not utilizing the native APRS).

Plus, it comes with all kinds of mounting gear that the Icom didn't. Write-up, and APRS config steps in my post here:

It's really simple. Just four bolts total two on each side. What are you trying to accomplish?

Hold on you have a 2015. What truck are you trying to do it on?

The 2015 is gone. I had to sell it. I have a 2002 4x4. I need to update my profile. 4 bolts for the 1st gen?

Yup, super easy. Just stick your head under the truck and see for yourself. Don't forget to hit the bolts with some wd40 or equivalent first.

Ah. Why do you need to remove the bumper? I ask because if you're installing a trailer hitch you need to remove the bumper brackets too.

Replacing it with one that’s not bent up. It does have a hitch. So the brackets have to come out too?

I’m trying to make the truck a little nice. The truck is rough right now. 3C75D02B-AA0B-42AC-9C93-79DC96982B3A.jpg

Now you're just being confusing for no reason. Stop it. The brackets come of f with the bumper unless you're some kinda dummy and don't remove em together. Why would you remove the bumper from the brackets then remove the brackets from the frame?

Ok. I’ll look at it and see. there were a few T screws on the bottom and some bolts.

My bad man I'm just trying to be helpful. I just installed my trailer hitch and the video I watched told me to separate the bumper brackets from the bumper to install the hitch. https://youtu.be/4dtIUj7UfCc

And you only actually have to take out the 2 closest to back of the truck, loosen the front two, take the back 2 out and it should just come off.
