I talked with the jeeper dudes last night. Apparently the springs have 9' holes that have swallowed some rigs trying to cross. They put up some poles to help keep peeps out of them while doing the crossings. Sounds like this year is going to be a mofo.

They said big sluice is ridiculous. I find that to be the hardest part of the trail so... Poop

Holy shit. I don't remember driving through any water last year...
Yeah coming from that direction i'd say big sluice is the hardest.

As you can imagine, after this year's snow there is a whole lotta water up there right now. Funny cause that's the least of my worries. I sure wish the mule was done.

Well the trip was awesome but different. The springs had 40+" of water so we came through Wentworth springs via the hard line and then cut to camp. My truck stayed parked most the weekend, instead I drove a "jeep" on tons, 42s, and a new suped LS :D

It is! I just drove over anything we came across. Felt like we were going to flop a couple times but it just stuck.

Overall good times for sure and I only got one dent in my already dented bedside.

As dumb as it sounds, I'm excited for my first bit of trail carnage! My truck will be officially christened.

So did you just wheel down to the springs then back out the same way?

I left the Tacoma at the jeep camp which is a little bit before soup. The farthest we when up was sluice on Friday and then back to Wentworth on Saturday to help get rigs through. On Sunday we exited out the Loon way over the slabs and gate keeper. We were nursing a jeep that blew a rear yoke that we swapped but still had a u joint that was on its last leg that we needed to drive back to Reno.

Got an alignment yesterday and the folks did a great job. Need to replace a blown shock and at some point swap out the lca bushings. Then get another alignment. Need to check/fix rack for leaks and shakes. And get some new tires.

What did you replace them with? I was thinking whiteline but not sure. What did you use to press them in?

I used Moog - $16 a piece. They seem fine now. I wheel pretty hard, so time will tell. The reason I didn't use OEM or whiteline is simply because of price.

Getting them out is harder than getting them in. The cambolts were frozen, so I had to sawzall them out. Once I got the arms off I used a butane torch to heat up the LCA and a bottle jack and sockets to press the bushings out. Plenty of youtube videos on this.

For getting them in I used large sockets, channel locks and a large vice. Don't forget to use anti-size on EVERYTHING!!

Thanks for the info! My cam bolts should be good since I replaced them when we did the TC cam tabs. Do you anti seize the bushings too?

I need to do those tabs thats for sure!

And yup, I antisiezed between the bushing and the LCA, as well as inside between the bushing and the cambolts
