Want It Grilled Please.

I am looking for a decent black billet (horizontal bars, not odd-shaped mesh) grill to replace my blingy chain-link fence. The vehicle is a 2017 TRD Sport access cab.

Maybe I am tight or just too old, but everything I see online is about $300 - and "north".
That is just not worth it to me. I am getting ready to drop $2k in wheels, so a $300 grille seems an unnecessary add-on right now. So funding must be allocated with some finesse.

I want to install the LIDAR jammer - oh sorry - I mean "parking assist" system I have.
I am only replacing the OEM grille to obtain a black one - with a pattern of 90 degree cut-outs (consider the grid as "reference lines") that will enable me to more easily install the sensors straight and level. I don't really like the OEM chrome look now on the truck, but I wouldn't truly judge its replacement as a priority at this time. Thus, my whining over the cost.

I have looked extensively (and searched to the end of the internet) but thought I might toss it out to you all - just in case somebody smarter and thrifty out there could help.

There’s a guy selling a T-Rex billet grill for 250 on the sell thread. I have one and love it.

 

if you want to drop the chrome bling and just go black, do Plastdip. it's THE cheap option.

 

I might have got a dud but I would not suggest t-rex. I had the black billet on my 2016 and despite following their cleaning instructions the coating started peeling off within the first year. It was covered under warranty but the return policy option I was given was unreasonable IMO. Ended up just getting a pro grill and trashing the t-rex. Just my experience.

 

What about an SR5 grille. You could probably find someone to swap you straight across....

 

I second this. The T-Rex grill is fantastic and it's a heavy and stout piece.

 

The TRD pro grilled are going for 200 on eBay now. Not sure about fitment
