Charlotte, NC area: hate on OP, houses, boats & hoes

I worked on a very large hospital construction project that had 18 different bomb threats called in during the course of the project. So whole days worth of work lost for 300+ people each time it happened.

 

buddies used to bring their new deer rifles in for show and tell back then too (mid / late 80s, upstate rural NY)

 

I blame the influx of sensationalized media. The same stuff went on 30 years ago but we weren't as connected technologically back then.

Plus I think some people do evil just because they know it will be broadcast and they think living in infamy means they actually accomplished something.

 

20+ yrs ago. Yeah to some extent it is but that is a whole other conversation. We use to come to school with deer in the cooler after a morning hunt and the rifles in the rack or under the seat.

 

Sounds like some kid didn't study for a test.

 

There was a dumbass in my HS who pulled the fire alarm for that exact reason it wasn't so funny when his parents got the bill and he had to go to court for it.

 

I really want a shell, but damn they are expensive.

 

I set up an IFTTT alert on Craigslist so I was the first to call when the guy posted the ad. I paid 700 for mine and it was almost new, but the guy I bought it from traded in his 2012 for a 2016. Drove an hour to get it and by the time I got there he said a dozen other people had called on it.

 

I bought mine for around $250, but it was scratched up and I have an old truck.

They’re neat but I much prefer a toolbox. You can’t put a 4 wheeler or anything in the back

 

Yeah I only have mine on about half the time, I lift it off and hang it in my garage.

 

My lil’ strip of land backs up to (former) Philip Morris and Alevo property.

I keep an eye on the news for that now closed again property. As long as it remains in the hands of a manufacturing company I’ll be happy. There’s a good 300 yards of woods between my backyard and their fence line.

 

Didn't they just go bankrupt? I heard their quality and engineering were terrible.

 

Yeah they just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and laid off 290 people. No updates on new tenants.

 

What is an IFTTT alert? Just looked this up, OMG where has this been all my life??

Also, not too many people selling caps for 3rd gens yet (cheaply anyway).

 

Anyone looking for a cheap 2nd gen camper top? It's near me so I can go check it out if anyone is interested.

Hey guys - glad I finally found a Charlotte thread. Live in Denver right now. The tacos in the shop for the SR dash cluster issue, two weeks and counting on waiting to get it back. looking forward to maybe meeting up with some fellow taco drivers once I get my rig back.
