I bought a white 2017 TRD sport with the premium tech package (sunroof), side steps and tenneau cover back in June. I've logged just under 10k miles on and it I am not 100 percent happy with my decision to buy a truck. Realistically, how much can I expect to sell it for? I believe I paid 37500 for it.

    Thanks!

Honestly there are several websites that can give you a better idea of the value based off of mileage options etc. than what any of us can give you here. I think Carfax does this for free online.

I feel like there is the KBB value then there is the street value. You don't see a lot of Tacoma's for sale online (which prob means something).

I see used Tacoma's of the 3rd Gen For Sale everywhere, probably more than any other Gen made.

Thankfully, you may only lose a couple grand, tacos hold value well. If you kept stock parts from any modding, you can charge extra for the mods no problem. GLWS.

Anything specific you don't like or just the fact that you don't want a truck now?

It's newer and lots sold. I notice the same thing with any other mass produced autos.

As far as the resale value, you'll have to gauge that yourself based on the local market. i.e. Tacomas seem to sell for much higher in the West than the east coast.

Around where I live its not that there not online its just when they are they don't last long before someone scoops it up. At the price point your truck is at anyone that buys it (private purchase) will probably be looking to use a loan, not a lot of people have 37K in their pocket, some but not a lot. With that being said the Blue Book value is going to be in play since banks only loan so much for a used auto.

whatever the dealer will pay for it. Private party/used on 3rd gens is not the greatest right now because for only a little bit more they can go and get a brand new one with full warranty coverage and no wear and tear.

I usually just look up what similar trucks are selling for on Autotrader.

I feel like 33 would be a fair price.

I don't know about sales tax laws in your state, but if your state only charges tax on the net difference between trade-in and new car price, it may be worth it to stipulate the buyer that they must "purchase" the vehicle from the dealer. Called "In & Out" in my state. You and buyer agrees on the price, you "trade it in," and the buyer purchases at that price from the dealer. You get a net benefit of the $33k x tax rate.

Exactly why I bought new - they had '16's with 20k miles on them going for $30k! Why not spend a couple more K and get a new truck? My '08 with 120k that got totaled, no mods except DRL, and State Farm (other person's insurance) gave me $17,046!! I paid $25k for it in '08 - talk about resale value! Sucks when buying, pays off when selling!

Because they have sold more than any generation on a year by year basis. Stands to reason that, if more people buy, more people sell.

Prices are as high as they have ever been on used Tacomas. What you describe has been going on since the 1st gens.

Some people can't quite get approved for a new one, so they go as new as they can.
