My right headlight of my 2011 has condensation in it. I bought the truck just a few months ago and when I went to pick it up this same problem was with the left light, so i had them replace it. The right not covered by dealer. So up to me to replace. Ill send pics asap. Is this a recall problem? It seems at when you open the hood the top of the light there are two insert snaps which seemed to be melted with a gummy texture now. Let me know if anyone has any input.

Where do you live? Remedies will be partly dependent on the humidity of where you live. The tabs you speak of on the top are sealed with stock butyl. Doubtful theyre your problem. I'm guessing bad seal on the rubber boot over the light bulb.

If you can, remove your headlights and bring them inside to fully dry them out.

It could be a loose rubber boot over the headlight bulb, or a missing rubber gasket on the turn signal or marker light.

If you take the headlights out add a bead of sealant around the entire lens seam, it's easy to do and good peace of mind.

Live in PA, I have truck a month, its a 2011 crew cab. When I went to pick it up it had this moisture in RT head light i asked if they can fix and ill come back for it. They fixed it and two - three weeks later the left one goes. The dealer said they'd fix but not covered it'll be 200.00. Look it up its about 100.00 for the light and I guess they'll charge me 100.00 to put in. Is this a recall type problem? Has this occurred to many people? If I get another light whats stopping this from happening again?

Certainly. I would recommend pulling it off, bringing it inside and letting it dry out. Is the plug for the headlight bulb on the putside of the rubber boot? I have seen this installed in the wrong order causing a poor seal and moisture.

I live in dry ass colorado and this happened recently. I could not for the life of me get the condensation to go away. It would go away during the day after I took the vent cap off and come back every am. I drilled 2 TINY holes into the top of headlight and it hasnt returned. I angle the holes from back to front a little so hopefully it wont catch rain etc..
I am interested in the long term so we will see. FYI I have never had this problem in the 5 yrs I owned the truck and it hasnt rained in several weeks so Im not sure what caused it.

Seriously, good info - I don't have the issue but good to see the solutions

mine did the same, tweaked from accident was the cause

I drilled a 1/16 hole on bottom to let the water out and one on top then point head light into sun for a day to dry it out

Thanks for the input I got light out and there was about a cup of water in the lens. I got it out and is drying outside in sun. I guess I do the bead if caulking first before I do the 100.00 light. Not that I want to take it apart again. I know now why the dealer wanted to charge me 100 bucks to install it. I guess some sort of exterior caulking.

I'm currently having the same problem even after sealing my aftermarkets, did drilling the holes help? and how are they still holding up?

It helped get the condensation out but when we got a big rain storm it returned. I ended up sealing the holes with silicone and then applied an extra bead to the seal on the lights. Its been pretty dry lately so no real test. I put the holes on the top and maybe that's why the water returned.

I ended up drilling to holes on the side put it in the oven for maybe 5 mins at 300 and turned it off then finished with a hair dryer to get all the moisture out I resealed the holes with a patch and silicone around the patch so its pretty airtight,i also removed the plugs on the rear of the headlight so it could vent out the back and have heat from the engine and did another line of silicone around the seals...been 2 days and no moisture so I hope it fixed it
