I absolutely love the look of the Tacomas with black out headlights but I’m far too afraid to bake mine and go through that. Is there anyone trusted local to the Bay Area that does this? I’d like to support someone local, if not I guess my best option will be the mail off services that some guys on here provide.

    Any info helps!

I was in the same boat. So happy I found a set of Pro headlights for cheap to buy.

A lot of crap and too much money spent
BHLM It's not that hard. Try going further with a retrofit where you have to cut into the dish. Now that's a little nerve racking.

Let’s take this to it’s logical conclusion...

Just imagine, if you can, a set of Pro lights that are retrofitted...

    Woah(insert Keanu Reeves meme here)!

Haven't done my Taco but on my honda here were some tips. It's not too hard but takes time to do it right

    1. Use lowest heat setting on oven
    2. Use cookie sheet or flat surface to prevent melting grooves in tabs
    3. Pry light open SLOWLY...
    4. Use a heat gun or put back in oven if it cools and doesn't want to open
    5. Sand shroud and clean thoroughly and primer before painting (to avoid peeling)
    6. Let paint cure for 24 hours+ before reassembly to prevent hazing
    7. use alcohol to and lint free cloths to wipe lens clean and reassemble in a clean environment.
    8. Reseal with plenty of extra caulk (tape edge of lens before caulking to avoid runover)

Good luck, definitely doable. Or you can buy some DEPO headlights that are already blacked inside.

Ah, I have some 12-15 Tacoma headlights for sale and am headed up to norcal next week. They won't do you any good though, wrong year. Best of luck
