I've never understood the whole reapply for the job you already have thing. Company making employees jump through hoops because they can. Seems kinda petty to me.

 

What am I looking for then for a third gen (is there a length or type or brand I'm looking for)? Also, what's the best way to correct for "Taco lean"?

Basically the same setup I'm saving my pocket change for. I concur on the extended brake lines though. Spend a few bucks and get the braided ones. Brakes just feel more responsive with them IMO.

There is a vendor on here that sells braided brake lines. I can't remember the name. Found it after an exhaustive search! OCTaco sells steel braided brake lines.

3rd gens have Taco lean?

 

AFAIK "Taco lean" is the very slight listing to the driver's side, due to the weight of the gas tank. I think it's a 1/4" shim or something folks put in to correct it? I thought I saw nylon ones talked about somewhere here, they were pretty highly thought of if I remember correctly.

 

Mine has a slight list to port. I thought Toyota corrected that particular problem.

 

Far as I know, the configuration is same as always.
Battery, gas and driver on the same side.
I run both .25 spacers on a new lift upfront and when it starts to droop I just take the passenger side out.

 

So you just need a spacer on the driver's side front to correct the lean?

I think I've only ran into one thread concerning taco lean on a 3rd gen.
Edit: have you measured yours with factory suspension?

Yeah, NO mall is perfectly flat....

 

I think the 1st gens were the worst. I'm on my 2nd set of ome 881 coils and both needed them.
The rear is negligible with only about a 1/4 in drop.

Also, I usually always wheel alone so the passenger side never gets any weight which makes it worse.

 

So i have a 25k service on my 3rd gen later this morning. I also noted to them that the tsb-0053-16 for the howling/whistling noise i have has not been resolved. Hoping they inspect the window seals as its been windy down in the central valley and that noise comes at about 60mph.

 

Man, I tell ya - it's been freakin' BUSY here the last two days!
