I don't know many people who got tint and wished they would have gotten it lighter

See I read things like this, and think 28% would be perfect. I don’t care about the light entering from the windshield part.

Just remembered that I have a pic on my phone. This was the day I got the tint. I want to say they used 35ish percent which is supposed end up closer to 30, not sure of why but that’s what I’ve read and the shop told me haha

Not the best pic but mine are 18% and you could see they match pretty close

So you are going for 100% looks and zero function with your tint?

My school of thought is its dumb to only tint the front windows. Put film all windows with a UV and heat rejection film. It will actually serve a purpose other than looks. You’ll block UV rays which reduces your passengers exposure to cancer causing radiation as well as protect your interior from UV damage. It also controls the temp in the vehicle much better.

I think you are overthinking that the tint must be the perfect percentage to match. Get it close and its fine. The tint shop will have only certain percentage of films to work with anyways. Its impossible to think it will be perfect.

Put film on all the windows.
Tint everything to match but put film on all windows.

Also ask about laws in your state. In my state its illegal to have my front windows match the rear so mine are a shade off.

I am not doing it only for looks, but would like it to match. I mean, why would I not want it to match? I know abou the UV stuff, my only question was the percentage to match. Thanks for the input.

How can you see at night in inclement weather? Your truck is nice, like the BBS wish that style was available in 16. I had 20% on a car, I almost pulled out on another driving at night in a mild rainstorm, the other driver didn't have any kind of lights on, and the car was black. I almost can't believe I saw it at the last second, and avoided it.

Personally I like tint, the darker the better, I just can't see vey well with it.

Side mirrors and A pillars get in the way too.

Well I went with 30%. It’s a reputable shop and that’s as dark as they would go. If the difference really bugs me I’ll rip it out and do it again but darker. I can’t really tell though, looks like a good match to me.

They wouldn’t go darker than the law allows. I said I’d pay cash and sign a waiver and she said nope. I didn’t really want to go to a shady shop just to go a tad darker, so I’ll see how I like it.

That's what my truck had when I got it. You should've went somewhere else and got darker, it's too light, doesn't match.:boink:

Honestly, go back, get your money back and go elsewhere, why pay for something that you’re not even happy with?

Any mod on your truck should leave a grin on your face when you park your rig, and do a double take as you walk away from it lol!

I had a similar incident on a previous vehicle, I was going to settle with it but I couldn’t do it. I went back, got my money back and they ripped off the tint, went elsewhere and for cheaper.

Man you guys are harsh lol. Honestly I can’t tell in person from most angles, the light coming in the windshield shows it some but it’s not that bad.
