Hi, like your rig- I also chose the Baja edition. I have a 2016 175RD - two beds and all the extra stuff that comes with the Baja edition like yours. I added a few extras to it for boondocking- dual batteries and two-200watt solar panels to charge them, maxair vent covers, and 12v lighter plug/usb ports in the walls next to both beds.

I have the 2018 slx 8 212qbw Baja. We had to have the Baja edition. It looks so much better. I love it. We only got a 1 queen bed version with a pull out couch. It's only me and my wife and our dogs so it's perfect. I want to get some solar panels. How much do they run?

I bought this kit - there was a mistake in my last post - it should have said 2-100watt panels(200watt max). The wanderer controller is basic, works well and you can add an addition of two extra panels to this kit for about $250.

I live in northern Colorado and frequently tow a 17 foot travel trailer over The Rockies to Utah. Trailer weighs around 3500lbs with gear. Truck gets about 8mpg over the pass and about 15 when the road flattens out. Runs at 3500-4500 rpms 65-75mph. Definitely screams up steep grades but does really well on the flats. Wouldn’t recommend towing more than 3500-4000lbs.

Truck can pull more comfortably. 3500 is barely the max you can pull with a 4cyl or without a tow package.

Just voicing some real word experience. I wouldn’t recommend towing up a 5-7% grade on a regular basis with more than about 3500-4000lbs. Unless you like low speed and high rpms.

And braking is an issue at that weight... The Taco isn't stellar in that regard.

With a brake controller and trailer brakes I honestly have no issue slowing down. The real issue is power and incline. If you’re towing on flat roads it’ll do more than 4000lbs no problem.
