You're thinking of trading the Pro for a Camry?

Might as well make this my first post!

2016 Ram 2500 CCSB SLT Cummins. Ran into a paint issue with the truck, was treated like crap by RAM and my Ram dealer concerning the warranty. Got so bad i went out and test drove several other trucks. Fell in love with the Taco and jumped in with both feet.

2017 DCLB AT Tacoma TRD Offroad in quicksand. Got it with 57 miles and just rolled 1350 in a month. So far I am a big fan of the truck.

    Day I picked it up

Still getting used to it. Compared to my last several vehicles, its a dog in the power dept, but nothing I cant live with. Only mods so far are weathertechs and a DIY Tractor supply bed mat.

I traded lots of little things for my Tacoma.....
Not exactly that many of those, er, little things, but pretty close (I got mine used)

My previous truck, however, was one of these:

That one wasn't mine (I don't seem to have any good pictures of mine) but it looks like mine right down to the color, brand of tires, marker lights and bug shield.

That pretty exterior hid a wonderful 7.3l diesel and a veritable truckload of other problems accumulated in 230k miles and 15 years of use. The engine, transmission, transfer case and axles were all good (the trans had been replaced), but nearly everything else was going or gone. Most of it looked good .... until you actually took something apart, when it then broke rather than came off and you had to replace it addition to fixing whatever it was you were originally trying to fix. I was still sad to see it go. Or maybe that was just diesel particulate in my eye.

Additionally, going *anywhere* in it was a hassle. Once it was going, it was great, but getting going felt like work. 6,000lbs empty. The engine alone weighed nearly 1,000lbs. And you felt every one of those pounds every time it moved. The engine was awesome. You felt like it could pull a mountain down (and it's power/torque is but a shadow of current diesel engine output), but tossable it wasn't. Offroad, your best bet was to use it to knock trees down, and pull the stumps out to get past (I didn't do that) rather than maneuver around anything. Parking lots were a living nightmare, even though I've long been a student of the park-in-the-first-damn-spot-and-spend-two-whole-minutes-walking-in-rather-than-drive-in-circles-for-fifteen-minutes-looking-for-that-one-great-spot-next-to-the-door-you-freaking-idiot school of parking lot navigation.

Back of the cab, driver side started to bubble. It was isolated to just that area, but was spreading in the area. Paint shop said either it was dirty in that spot or they were thin on the adhesion promotor. To fix it was 1200 bucks. Ram denied the claim three times, saying it was environmental and after the third claim told me not to submit it again. My dealership decided to become spineless and tell RAM i had the truck painted (I did not). They told me to pound sand, so I told them to piss off and will take my business elsewhere. Luckily, toyota was right across the street. As a little back info; ive bought two trucks from this ram dealership in 5 years, sent friends to them when looking. Utilized their service dept a fair amount, even for my wife's subaru. I have a tendancy to go through vehicles quickly, even tried to get them to help on trade in on the white truck and i would purchase another new Ram from them. No such luck, and the whole process really pissed me off. Im not one to complain about every little thing, but the way both the dealership and the Brand treated me left me feeling like i was worthless to them.

Traded in my 2007 Tundra 2WD. Original owner (kinda). My dad bought it new in 2007, I learned to drive in it and fell in love with it. I bought it from him a couple years later. Traded it in with 170k miles on the clock, still ran like a top but 'needed' a 4WD pickup truck. Love my 13' Tacoma, even with 4WD it gets better gas mileage than the Tundra did. I've been getting 18-19 MPG from the Tacoma vs. the 8-12 MPG the Tundra would get. Although I don't have quite the lead foot I used to. My Tacoma just rolled over to 63k miles. Plan to keep it until it becomes a financial burden with repairs. Which will be a LONG time.

The Pro can tow a trailer. Plus the money you save buying, maintaining and insuring 2 vehicles will most likely cover the cost of the extra gas and the Pro payment.

Nice Mustang! What made you think you would need the extended warranty? Were you having problems?

    Too few to list.
Several reasons why I gave it up. First year build. They were known for the A/C evap leak. It was not if it leaks but a when and it's under the dash so it would be a pain to replace. Most annoying was the engine just shutting off when coasting to a stop. It happens once or twice about every 500 miles. Ford still couldn't figure this out until now. Trans was super notchy when cold. Even warm it is a bit clunky. Drive train has slop. Clicks and clunks when going forward and reverse. Coolant reservoir leaked from the return hose. Can never seal right after replacement. Body panel mis-alignment. Dash squeak. It was a fun car but just not a keeper. The 5.0 motor is solid. I'd buy one again but it would have to go when the warranty ran out.

Sold my 2006 Civic Si that I had all throughout my college years. It was time to move on to bigger and better things. I miss the damn thing though. The 6 speed manual was a blast and this thing was a little go-kart. Can't beat a quick little 4 banger for daily driving fun.

I traded a 2001 Ford Ranger in for my Taco:

Originally I wasn't going to trade it in but they were willing to take it in sight unseen. The head gaskets and a slew of other things were going out on it after 147,000 miles.

The trade got me $2,000 off my already negotiated price. But I made them throw in tag, title and tax with the trade. They didn't keep it long.
