Time for a valve body upgrade. I had the symptoms you did at about 50K until about 70K when I did the valve body upgrade. Symptoms are all gone and 4th to 5th shift beautifully now. In boost or not.

I did post this in the mods tips and tricks thread though. Almost verbatim. Shame shame @Murphinator

I thought so but was not sure. Just need to find a shop who can do it and not fck it up. I don’t want to attempt it all the springs and what not in there I would probably lose one lol. I can’t believe how cheap it is for the ratiotek one. Thats probably the one I will go with.

Also huge props to you for that thread, it is great to have all the information in one place!

If you want to get it done for cheaper, buy a valve body on Amazon. Buy the RatioTek kit and I can install the shift kit for you then send it back to you. All you have to do is remove and replace at that point.

It'll still flare. I shift manually also. Even now. Lol.

Yes I do. I just went through this with @GT7 Last night. I am going to modify a valve body for him. He said he would give you his valve body for $100 If you wanted me or a shop to modify that one.

Ok cool, I just ordered the valvebody kit on Amazon right now. How hard would it be to just swap the valve bodies, relatively easy? Send me a PM on how much you want for doing this please!

Just calculated best fuel economy for a long time, 18.6 MPG after the monday evening jet mod. I also adjusted the spark timing too about week ago, might be most of that.

As someone who has never really messed with the fuel system I was totally unaware.

Well 320 aem is fully installed and ill be getting the bed back on tomorrow.

I hate fuel pumps now. Couldnt have done it without @12TRDTacoma helping me with some tricky (at least to me) parts.

I got this going on in a few days (Walbro 255 going in) what are all the trouble spots haha?!?!?

I was thinking about just dropping the tank (i have access to a full lift and xmsn jack). I couldnt tell is raising the bed (with the light wires and everything) was going to be harder in the end (timewise) than just dropping the tank. Whatcha think?

I undid the bed, with me and two others, lifted it and put about 6” of wood between the frame and bed. Not too bad to get the pump assembly in and out.

Looking back if I had a full lift i might drop the tank. The hard part was just getting the pump to play nice with the housing. I drilled alot of white plastic off lets just say that.
