OP do you want to see my work order estimate?

Our damage is very similar. I had some damage to the hood as well but your cab damage (specifically the tearing of the roof insert sheet metal where it meets the cab sides) is a little worse than mine was. The rest is pretty similar looking.

Are they factoring labor hours (and labor rate) into the $7k estimate? Mine was about $7k in parts, but $13k in labor.

Does that body shop get good reviews?

I wouldn't just go anywhere to have body work done. You want a reputable shop who does quality work.

And that quote is likely popping out panels and using a hell of a lot of bondo to "fix" the dents. Doesn't sound like they are actually replacing the roof.

    Red flag to me.

See my build thread in my signature
Well 7,300 is probably just the cab replacement but it’s totally possible.

Toyota dealers are extremely efficient at removing cabs from frames and replacing.

Went and picked up my truck this morning from the Toyota dealers body shop and then drove across the parking lot and traded it for a '17 4-dr 4x4 with the off-road and towing packages. I must say I love this gen. 3 Taco!

When the Mrs and me bought our access cab taco our Sons were grown men and we also didn't have any grand children. But now we have a 1yo Grandaughter so we've been talking about getting a 4-dr taco. So with our truck being detailed when we picked it up this morning we figured it would be a good time to trade it in. Not to mention my truck had 60k miles so no more powertrain warranty and it also needed tires.
