    Where can I find black wheel skins for my 2007 Tacoma. I've put on another set of rims and I'm not sure of the year of truck they came off of.

    Attached is a picture of the rim I am trying to duplicate with a black skin.

    I doubt anyone makes a cover for those. Typically just steel wheels get the full cover/skin/hubcap treatments, not alloys.

    Paint, powdercoat, or plastidip.

    I like that look as well. I think I'm going to have to try that as well. Just a couple of questions. Was that done with Plastidip? Also did you remove the emblem and then reinstall it after spraying the center cap? Now, if I can only get my wheels to stop flaking.

    Yes, Plastidip... One can did all 4, I think I did 5 coats. The emblem is not removable, it's part of the center cap. You must use a toothpick or x-acto knife and go very slowly to gently remove the Plastidip from the emblem. It's a royal PITA and I'd skip doing it, just leave it all black.

    You're welcome! I watched a bunch of YouTube how-to videos first, they helped a lot. Many different techniques.

    when I painted my sport rims I popped the toyota logo right off the center cap. All it took was squeezing some tabs with a pair of pliers.

    Id use plastidip then if you want gloss use plastidip spraycan glossifier.

    wow 1 can! !? I wish that was the case for mine. Shit I think i used 2 cans on just my rear bumper:rofl:
    When i did my winter wheels...I used 3 or 4 cans. Lots of coats.
    But i figured....use lots for durability and to make it easier to peel if I ever wanted to.
    Been 3-4 yrs now..& no need to even touch them up yet.:thumbsup:

    I love plastidip :transformer:

    Edit..my bad. .you use one can for all 4 center caps:anonymous:

    How do the plasti-dipped wheels hold up against tire rotations? I'm just worried I'll sink hours of time into dipping them only to have it torn up by the guys at discount tire...

    Are there any more durable alternatives?

    I had new tires put on my plastidipped rims after doing them. There were some marks left on the edges, but not noticable from 4-5 feet. I have redone them since, but only because the black slowly fades away over time, and i wanted a rich dark black.
