For any leak follow it as far forward and as far up as possible. Gravity pulls it down and air pushes it to the rear of the truck. If the oil cap won't seal and that's where it's collecting you have a leak. Might not be your only leak but it's leaking non the less. My experience once a valve cover gasket is old and dry tightening bolts won't stop it. It might slow it but you need to break down and do the gaskets. Not hard or expensive.

Any other part you would reccomend replacing besides the gasket ? And it's dirty on the whole valve cover but the only legit leak I see at the highest point is the oil cap the seal around the cover is dry and no residue underneath it. It pools around the cap as you can see in the pic. ( I'm a little nervous to replace the gaskets , but fuck it )

Intake manifold gasket if it has to be removed.

Bottom line is it's just bolts... take pictures before you take something off if you're nervous (reference for reassembly). Look up write-ups from tw or google. I know it looks like a process but if you document things and keep parts organized with their bolts you will have a good time. Toss in a victory beer and call it a day.

    How many miles?
If the caliper is leaking I would prioritize that over a slow valve cover leak lol

And get a new oil cap or gasket if it has it.

139k literally wasn't like that 5 hours ago... I just washed my truck and saw this whole working on it. Don't know if the splashes on my tires are also from it ? IMG_2633.jpgIMG_2634.jpg edit : this was after I wiped it down

Easy test to find out if it's grease/oil or brake fluid. Brake fluid washes away with only water where as grease/oil sticks around. It could be a wheel seal but I don't know if your front hubs are sealed bearings or grease bearings though.

can you clarify ? Never heard of it

I'll spray it down right now and give it a wipe.. I doubt it could be the bearing. Is there a picture I could take that could clarify that for you?

Banjo bolt secures that rubber brake hose to your caliper.

Looked it up and you have a sealed wheel bearing so that's probably brake fluid.

Just checked the bolt right as I tightened it the little metal valve nudged a tad. And I was able to get a couple strokes in with the ratchet nothing to loose, I was pushing pretty hard ( laying down with 1 hand) so? Don't think it could be that also was using a 1/2 lol

What's you're brake fluid level at. Check the caliper and bolt once its dry and have someone pump the brakes with the truck running to see if you can trace it.

Right at max... BUT I just filled it up from the min level like an hour ago (lol). It has gotten low in the past probably about 6-7 months ago? And my e brake light came on. And it just did that tonight so I filled it. I thought it was a regular occurance. Like I said last time I added some was months ago. I didn't know if hard stopping or usage of brakes also affects fluid? I have stupid big tires. But me filling it up should've broughten me to check the calipers....when the wife gets home ill have her pump the brakes for me !

Brake fluid is a sealed system. Shouldn't get low or have to be topped off. Ever... if it's low then your pads or shoes are worn. If they are new then you have a leak.

I'm pumping them myself right now and hoping out to check and I can't see shit... they're completely dry so far. Is it normal for passenger and driver banjo bolts to be completely different sizes also? Driver is a 13mm and shiny where as passenger is prob a 15 or bigger and old as fuck
