Dropped it by how much? I got a buddy who was bragging about it on his Legacy and then the bill came and it dropped it by a whopping $6 dollars a month. Then again, it might depend on the company. His was State Farm.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I think it was about 50 every 6 months -- this was compared to the same Outback without eyesight plus remember we were insuring a 7 year old car vs. a brand new one. Also -- $6 a month =72 a yr. -- I still value $72 extra in my hands

For a $1000+ option, meh. But to each his own.

If it messes up being lifted how is it going to be able to carry an atv or similar heavy load in the bed unless it comes with factory air bags for the leaf springs so it stays perfectly leveled all the time

Maybe it'll finally be offered from the factory.

You can lift them without issue. We have two 18 Tundras at our local dealer that both have 3" lifts on them. No issues and everything works as it should. If you do have an issue related to the TSS or driveline (vibration), your on your own.

So were the lifts on those Tundras installed by the dealer or the owner...if by dealer, I'd assume TSS problem would be covered under warranty.

By the dealer. Toyota won't cover any warranty issues. Same as when the dealer installs a lift. The dealer will sometimes have a work around if there is a problem and if they can get it though on warranty by not disclosing the modification to Toyota. If they can't get it through you would be on the hook for the repair. Kind of like rolling the dice.

There are at least two '17 Tacos in my area in the exact configuration and color I want, and I'm sure the price is getting more negotiable, but I'm still pulling the trigger on and '18 anyway because I personally WANT the new safety features, though I'm now being forced into leather seats with the tech package.
I'll be doing some mods, including a leveling kit, but have no worries about it. I'll have to be convinced that people buying Tacomas or any other rig in the future won't be able to set up their investments the way they want. Just doesn't add up to me.

Money is not important if you are spending a little extra to get a option that can (and has) save your life or serious injury.

Well yeah, you can mod all you want...question is are you killing the warranty in the process...I'm planning on 17" tires and leveling the front...but I'm waiting to see if Toyota is gonna frown on this when/if I have a TSS problem or anything else related to or indirectly related to my mods.

you're better off not having the dealer do it anyways as they're often cheap block lifts that are complete shit.

Toyota Corp will definitely have a problem with it. No question about it. There are a number of modes even at present that Toyota Corp have issue with. Lift your truck and get a driveline vibration , your on own. Put in a car starter and Toyota will drop you on any future electrical issues. How the dealer helps you out by keeping the modes hush hush is what may get you through.

Went to the Livermore CA toyota dealership and the sales team there said that the TSS will need to be recalculated but that it should be fine. They had 2 factory lifted (6”) 2018 Tundras with TSS, these both were on what looked like 37’s. So TBH who knows. But the salesman said this week Tacomas were coming in.

what happens when a levelled truck runs fully loaded?
maybe it's not designed for that angle.

or maybe they just designed it for how they sell it and 'say' that it won't work outside of what they designed it for because they didn't want to test it in custom configurations? I'd say there's a good chance it'll work fine, but maybe a little differently depending on what mods you've got and Toyota didn't want to spend the time/money to test all these weird and wonderful specs... much easier to put out a statement.

All radar works the same way with the exception of some that are tilt and pan adjustable in motion, like on aircraft or air traffic control facilities. Fixed radar, like the ones on vehicles, project outward and are not restricted to a specific height. Lifting a vehicle with forward sensing radar does not affect it.

Makes me glad I'm old, with a bit of luck I'll never have to buy anything newer than a 2015...
