I would email them, but I’m already 3 beers in tonight, and I’m smarter than to send angry emails after more than 2 beers. I tend to regret it, lol.

And just to clear things up. The front of our trucks do, in fact, use a "strut."

I have read in other threads on TW that the fact there are upper control arms plays a role in proving these are not "struts." And that is wrong. The presence of upper control arms proves they are not MACPHERSON struts... but they are in fact "struts."

Macpherson is not the only kind of strut.

There... I think I used the word "strut" enough today... so I'll just "strut" on outta here.:proposetoast:

Exaggerating a little, but it just isn't any fun. Corners like a boat and in general rides like one of those playground spring horsies. I have a 2015 TRDOR Prerunner whose stock suspension feels like a Cadillac in comparison. Trying to keep the miles low on that since I'm trying to sell it, but sometimes I have to jump in there just for some relief.

I've had the 2002 for 6 months; 116K miles and all original coils, leafs and struh..-ocks. Leafs are flat/almost inverted (unloaded) and the front coils just look awfully compressed. I figured that was to be expected after 15 years of use.

I'm gonna go with the 5100s and OME coils and leafs like y'all say, maybe spring for the packs if the 5100s aren't too long for them. I feel like I found a unicorn with the 2002 (I searched for YEARS for a low mile 1st Gen M/T 4X4 TRDOR with NO FRAME ROT) and I just wanna do right by it. Which oftentimes just means I want to spend lots of money on the wrong things for my needs.

The 5100s will work for up to 3” lift, so you should be good. IMO, the dakars will fine for your needs. No need for the deavers, unless you feel the need to spend more. There are lots of people with the OME dakars that love the ride, and they seem to last through years of off road abuse.

The new shocks and springs will make that thing drive like an entirely new truck!
