No clock in the oem radio. I guess if it bothered me too much I could get an after market radio. Oh, and the fuel tank could be a little bigger. She is still a keeper.

I can't set the wipers to delay wipe on my '04. Even my '92 Caprice has that.

Pretty much everything he said. I LOVE my truck but had an '87 extra cab 4wd that I put 230,000 miles on and that truck was infallible!

My 2009 is (believe it or not) becoming more fun to drive as it gets closer to 20000 miles on it. Shifting better and just driving better. Now if one day I would go outside and it would have morphed into a solid front axle four wheel drive! Unfortunately it will take many thousands of dollars to make that happen.

I was un-happy about the un-lighted 4x4 switch, but I fixed that!!! It would kinda be nice if the oil filter on the 2.7 was where it is on the V-6...

    1. Pretty bad wind noise between driver and access doors.
    2. access door sticks all the time
    3. harsh shifts from 1st to 2nd gear and finicky city driving transmission.

Only had my truck 2 months..... DC TRD OR LB would have been a sweet option... I love my taco, and I spend way to much time thinking about this truck, lol..

I have to mention a few things, criticisms that I would say about Toyotas in general, having to do with small details that the DIYer will find when maintaining the vehicle.

In the few weeks I've owned my 2001, I've found skid plate mounting threads and hardware that are just not up to the task. My truck was dealer maintained, but the threads are worn and don't hold the skid plates tightly to the frame. In replacing one of my parking light bulbs, some little tiny bits of cheap plastic tabs break-off no matter how careful you are. In addition, the cheap little plastic clipped nuts that are supposed to hold the parking light assembly mounting screw tight don't. I realize that to be competitive, Toyota will change the styling from time to time; I just wish they thought it through a little better with respect to structural integrity and regular maintenance.

Other than minor items like that, I can't think think of any other vehicle made at any price that suits my needs like my Tacoma.

i hate all the electronic traction control, it's a waste of fuel and my fucking driving is a ok. true u can shut it down, but it's only momentary, make it on or off, not auto reset on. l
What the fuck is with the differential, one gay drive tire and a diff loc switch that only lasts 3 mph.

and does trd live up to it's name? seems like a real cut down to me.

Got Solutions ? start typing . Trading is out of the question, can't stand people.
    thank you

I agree with the traction control I hated it on my G35 also... but that's just the way things are going now.

The diff lock is only good to engage at 3mph and under... I've ran mine locked at 70+ in the desert just fine...

As for "TRD" well, Toyota Racing Development doesn't really fit the bill for our trucks in reality... as they're not built for racing. Unless there was a TRUE baja-style TRD edition that's locked, loaded, with long travel and beefed up and tube framed race ready for baja.

Though, if you put the TRD supercharger on... then it makes more sense :p
